Yeah I agree it was probably an accident (because WotC is dumb but not this dumb) but it still demands some kind of public response. I mean the guy is a war criminal by proxy.

Don't forget to look up the founders of the founders fund before sending your head designer to draft there!

I hereby promise we at Third Rule Games won't send any head designers to meet with a guy that's best buds with Peter Fucking Thiel. What the actual hell WOTC. I'd love to hear someone defend this.

This has always been so stupid and silly to me. I can't believe they got away with it. And I don't even know how to fix it. As an indie dev its a little scary. I guess the advantage of developing a TCG is that I can always sell it for cash, since its physical, but I feel for my digital brethren.

We redesigned the card frame to make it a bit more unique, and a bit more eye catching. In addition, it now frames the stats better so that it's easier to tell what does what. We took out a few weirdnesses, like creatures having their supertype implied, and renamed [ANG] to [DIV.]

Yeah I feel you. A lot of the friendships I have today are specifically *because* of MTG. Makes me sad that I won't experience it again, but nothing can tarnish the memory of going to my LGS with my buddies for limited events.

I ended up reducing to the occasional draft on Arena, but I feel icky spending money on the game in its current state.

A lot of indie games these days are doing print and play, which I think is neat.

Yeah, that's what we're seeing as well. Its why I personally stopped playing Magic and started working on my own game. The flood of sets right now is absurd. But it's a tough tightrope to walk, because content droughts kill the game too.

I know this is sort of a different convo, but could you clarify the details on how you were priced out? We're trying hard in our TCG to create metas that are accessible both in gameplay and cost, specifically because we see players getting priced out, and I think this would be good data.

I think there's a difference between "not trusting you" as in saying you're a liar, and acknowledging the reality that megacorps are megacorps. I'm glad you clarified this, but Wizards regularly pulls support from creators who criticize them, so it's hard to not take at face value.

This doesn't have anything to do with Arcane, but it IS hilarious.
