What a massive loss 😞. Brent's unique voice and guitar playing were integral to making Mastodon the band they are. One of the finest discographies out there IMO. It was sad to see his recent issues with the band unfold and I was really rooting for fences to be mended. So sad. RIP Brent.
Yeah I didn't even know they were from AZ until recently. Yeah, I think it's pretty rare.
Also he's still friends with a guy who has been a stand-in touring drummer for them. He came to see us play once where we covered Sweetness. I was very embarrassed to learn this after the fact.
So the singer in my band is from the same town in Arizona as them and was involved in the "scene". He saw them play in like a bowling alley way back before they hit it big.
I dig that. Man I would love to see Jimmy Eat World too. Just haven't gotten around to that one either.
I've always wanted to see the Offspring but never have gotten around to it.

I thought Glow On was a fun cross between hardcore and dream pop, but was pretty underwhelmed by their latest. I can't relate to the level of love and hate thrown at them. They have some cool stuff. People can like em if they want, there's worse popular music out there.

It felt like Ozzy was immortal and would probably outlive us all. Hard to believe he's really gone.
Do yourself a favor and revisit those early Sabbath and solo Ozzy albums. They're classic. He was a unique talent, and I don't think we'll ever get one quite like him again. #ozzy #blacksabbath
