I know folks get mad at unionized workers who strike. These folks feel inconvenienced and accuse unionized workers of being lazy and greedy. You know what? How about be mad at the billionaires who are at the top of the corporations? Be mad at billionaires who don’t pay their fair share of taxes.

Have a lovely Thursday everyone where you are able to notice and enjoy all the ways the light pours into your day today.

Look again and again.
You never know where you might find the light pouring in.’

If you're after a Christmas picturebook that will be adored from Reception to Year 6, you can't go wrong with How Does Santa Go Down the Chimney? by Mac Barnett and Jon Klassen. Funny, surreal and extremely entertaining.

2.We believe and proclaim that:
• every child has a fundamental right to education, and must be given the opportunity to achieve
and maintain an acceptable level of learning,
• every child has unique characteristics, interests, abilities and learning needs,
• education systems should be designed and educational programmes implemented to take into
account the wide diversity of these characteristics and needs,
• those with special educational needs must have access to regular schools which should
accommodate them within a child-centred pedagogy capable of meeting these needs,
• regular schools with this inclusive orientation are the most effective means of combating
discriminatory attitudes, creating welcoming communities, building an inclusive society and
achieving education for all; more over, they provide an effective education to the majority of
children and improve the efficiency and ultimately the cost-effectiveness of the entire education
system.
Personally I think that a great starting point for discussions on 'what do we do about SEND in education?' is to go back to the Salamanca Statement and remember what 'inclusion' originally meant. The way that the system itself works has become the cause of exclusion for many CYP imho.

"Improved recruitment to postgraduate teacher training in England is welcome after years of severe under-recruitment. While targets for core secondary subjects including English, maths and the sciences have been met, overall secondary recruitment still falls short of the numbers required.
“Further policy efforts to improve teacher recruitment and retention will be needed to maintain the stronger recruitment, reverse the impacts of previous persistent under-recruitment and deliver on the Government's objective to recruit 6,500 new teachers."
Jack Worth - Education Workforce Lead

It’s #Caturday! And I wouldn’t want to let you down so here’s a picture of Milo in his new favourite spot, showing off his #beans, slang for those cute little toe pads. AI tells me they ‘act as shock absorbers, aiding in movement control, and helping with thermoregulation by releasing sweat’ 💦

I don’t know about you, but I’m still sort of processing that the US president stood up in the UN and declared that London is about to be under Sharia law, and the response has been “actually, that won’t happen” rather than “Jesus, that is insane.”
