Crikey, I've not been on here in ages, and a lot has happened since I was last here.

I feel like the popularity of it would be much higher in countries where it doesn't exist if we asked people. A referendum on an issue like this in the UK would be a disaster. I'm afraid that its opponents are way too complacent and the pro death penalty crowd has way too many wealthy backers

And is just going to drain rain water straight into their neighbours' gardens or into already overstretched sewage / storm water drainage

It should be illegal to hard landscape every bit of land within the curtilage of your property like this. What a soulless, sterile, depressing outdoor space that provides no shelter and contributes absolutely nothing to biodiversity

The former employee couldn't wait to get out, you couldn't fill the vacancy they left in a few months, and you short-listed them just to laugh in their face. Who has the real issues here? What is your employer doing to address their absolutely terrible company culture?

Just spent hours debugging a subtle issue that was caused by me unconditionally returning early from a function as opposed to checking an error and returning only when the check failed, so if you're a junior developer that is lacking some confidence, hope this cheers you up :)

Bella's fur is a literal slug magnet. Went out for a walk this evening thinking she'd stay nice and clean because it's been dry here today, and so she'd not have to go in the bath right before bed. NOPE

I've always been ambivalent about fireworks - tolerating proper organised displays but thinking that amateur home displays are just extremely shit. But now we have a dog, I'm definitely turning into one of those "ban all fireworks" sort of guys
