That's why we are in the state we are now in this country. Democrats playing nice while in the mealtime this current administration in Washington is steam rolling over them and the people of the United States.
For whatever we think about political parties as ideological constructions they are also campaign finance infrastructure. Organizations that get special privileges from the state to raise and spend money for the purposes of influencing elections should be held to a higher standard.

Yes I learned about John and Mary Johnson and their amazing story. It was great to hear about the contributions they put forth to the Black community in Chicago pre Civil War Era and afterwards. Often times many Chicagoans don't know that there was a Black community in Chicago before the Civil War.

Not surprised records show this. This was literally an attack on Black people in the SouthShore. community and immigrants combined. I was so disgusted that children were being zipped tied.

I typically think that political ads with staged constituent interactions are terrible but also I think (with very few exceptions) that it's deeply weird to make a political ad that shows zero direct interaction between the candidate and human people.
I received a thank you from some library workers for this piece after a Chicago city budget was passed this week without the previously proposed library cuts I described here. Many thanks to everyone who made noise about this issue. There were wins and losses in this budget, but this win matters.

Reminder that Republicans abandoned war heros to support a convicted criminal. Still waiting for the spell to wear off and common sense to return to the "body" of Congress.
