It was just too difficult what with having friends in totally different parts of the world. If I joined an NZ server I could not find my Cannucks and vice versa. Nevermind friends in the rest of the world. Being unable to search by name made it too complicated unfortunately

Just got verbally abused at a Napier Park. We were sitting on a bench talking about a recent death in the family when a random guy rocked up. He heard our Canadian accents and asked if we supported Trump. When we said no, he lost his mind and hurled abuse. We hurried off but he kept screaming away 😱

@ninjakitty.bsky.social The only options for seniors seems to be villas which cost more than our house or subsidised housing which has massive wait lists and means you have to drain any assets. The Toronto rental is 1k per month including power.
We sell here and go there. No brainer.

I've already got us on the wait list for a retirement place in Toronto. If we live long enough we will sell our very modest house and take a cruise ship back as I can't do flights. The seniors housing situation here is abhorrent. If Michael passes before me, I'm gone home immediately.
