The HDMI cable coming out the right side of my laptop is interfering with my mouse placement. <remembers I have a framework and pulls out the port and swaps it to the left> Yay!

Not much of a fan of modern Apple computers but this is very cool. The citrus colour is also very nice.

These modern optical mice are quite high resolution so it's never been an issue for me. Not noticed the feet wearing out but logically they will be I guess.

Haha, yeah maybe I should get a mouse mat. Strangely I rarely have one. That is bottom which is an alternative to top :-)

Yes, laptop is a Framework 13 and the little black/green chappie is a Rock 5B based system.

Really nice concept and brings us part of the way at least towards the repairable/upgradeable ideal that Framework provides at a lower cost albeit with lower performance too and some rough edges. Would love to run one of these at some point.

This is a good question. I'm looking to implement something for my setup. Currently I include some local files that I write by hand which is pretty manual.

i came up with a new way to build software!

you write the code yourself with your fingers

it's claude code, in your own brain

it's as local-first as it gets, and sustainable: just slop bowls & 1 gallon of water

lmk if you'd like a help installing in your brain! it's called "learning to code"

Should I make a video about how to this this? Emulator is mame and the serial terminal software I'm using on the Apple is Zlink.

Ever wanted to see an Apple IIc connect to a Linux host via a serial null modem cable? Still some work to do on all the garbage characters but quite happy that I mostly got it working. It's a dream of mine to get my hands on a real IIc and do this.
