At a gaming bar, the bartender was loudly saying "Hey man, your game comes out tomorrow, Highguard is gonna be the next big thing! Celebrate!" I thought the fella was just stressed.
I feel awful with every story I hear now. Wonder what was on his mind and hope he's doing alright.
I adore Strange Aeons but it's definitely a moody watch, I have to be interested in laughing at the absurdity but these "stories from the Internet" can feel very familiar and swirl the dust of trauma around. Helps to check in with yourself, "Am I.... Really in the mood for this?"
Unusual candy from truck stops or quaint local stores, please
I go to huge events where everyone has nicknames and costumes and all sorts of stuff. We encourage each other to openly ask names. There's no shame in it! I'm legitimately making a badge that says "remind me your name" after i saw a pin that said "i don't remember your name either."
Absolute banger lines here. Thanks for providing concise language for this logic that my brain has been howling inside.
"Let her cook" as the memes say.
I liken my deeper thoughts to the mythological Cassandra. I'm right about the wrong things. They end up true, nobody wanted to believe it, I didn't want to be correct about them, and in the end it matters naught.
Thanks, and I'm sorry, for you being a step ahead.
There are wonderful, blessed moments when it's late night, everyone else in the house is sleeping, and the leftover chow mein in the fridge feels like the greatest thing to have existed.
Hitting late 30's had the blooming thought of "maybe these spinach pressed juices have a point."
Over on threads someone just use ai;dr and we all need to adopt that right quick
It's weird how Pandora's Box has a little slot in the top for future evilness deposits, I don't remember that in the original myth.
I always self-published, no matter the amount of disdain it got, because I had a lot of writers tell me that publishers absolutely do not want short story collections. When it comes to my art, I'm not letting anyone else tell me what to work on. We want different things.
I often feel like there's a war going on over my books between the readers who connect with what they are and the people in the publishing industry who think I should make them more shit, dumb & unoriginal so they sell more. I know whose side I'm on, and I know I've never been on it more zealously.
We're flooded with nonstop legislation, but focus attention on the SAVE Act. If passed it will be used to crush leftist voters. Married women would not be able to vote if they took their partner's last name (ID wouldn't match birth certificate).
Don't take it for granted; call your senators.
Ichabod makes a circuit through household napping spots, frequenting places until they are undoubtedly his, then ignoring them for years UNTIL I PUT SOMETHING ELSE THERE, HOW DARE I, HE KNOCKED THE BOOKS OFF THE SHELF FOR A REASON, HE OWNS THIS NOW.
a red lego piece that is the platonic ideal of a crab. the lego nubbin is in the center of its back. Its claws are outstretched.
I need you to know that you can buy individual crabs from LEGO and they are 21Β’ each

I miss having a commute simply because I used to sing a lot more.

When I went to the DMV site to schedule my license renewal, I was pretty bummed I didn't have to solve a CAPTCHA. That's the one place it would have made sense to have to identify a bunch of stop signs or crosswalks.
Do one of the things that makes you feel better, because if you aren't doing any of that, you will run down. Today I did some writing. I'm a writer, & if I don't write, I run down. It's very easy for me to forget this, despite decades of knowing it. And so I am here to remind you to do your things.
Those turnips are like, hey what did I do wrong?
our country was founded by outlaws
Guess I canβt anger myself to sleep. Ah well it was worth a try.
Abi in an explosion of paperwork
i hate living in the second act of CABARET. i miss living in the first act of CABARET
A coworker took this from her apartment. I haven't seen a crowd this size before. Maybe the first Women's March? But it was much much warmer that day. ICE OUT OF MINNESOTA!
Here in the Twin Cities, it feels very different from 2020. After the murder of George Floyd, the enemies were abstractions: institutional racism, police violence - plus we were mad at the kids looting the post office. Today, the enemy is clear: ICE is the enemy. The goal: Get ICE out.
These 3 hotels are in the "downtown" portion of Vegas, Fremont Street. Not one of the big places and further out, much smaller hotels and a kitschy low-brow vibe. I love it there but it's not the same glamour as the Strip. But for Fallout New Vegas fans, there's the cowboy Victor is modeled after!
He must be talking about learning how to cook.
I think the cheap thrills aspect will prevail. Why write a comic or hire an artist to make your head canon come true when you can get instant gratification? They're missing the journey, but most creatives begin wanting to imitate or add on to what they love. Sadly, for AI users, it likely ends there
