Hey #rstats fam, is anyone else having issues with the new Pandas update and reticulate? It's not converting the pandas DataFrames to R for me on AWS SageMaker and I can't quite pin down why.
Question for public health folks:
Do harm reduction campaigns -- eg, anti-vaping "you're vaping formaldehyde, which is used in taxidermy"! -- get scooped up by anti-vax kooks?
Formaldehyde is in some vaccines, which I understand to be fine!
Is the fight on several fronts worth it, all told?

Is there a better way to be using reticulate in sagemaker?
None of our code changed and from what I can tell no direct dependencies changed for packages we use. This seems to be potentially related to an update to the sagemaker distribution, but I'm waiting on support to reply.
I tried following the AWS ticket troubleshooter and set RETICULATE_PYTHON env variable to a python install I can see in the terminal, but I can't access it because it's not shared.

No you have to tell it to use Python to count the letters for you
Must have been a small delay? I can see this now. I got pinged pretty early by a coworker who found the issue
hey #rstats is there a place to see the changes in reticulate 1.43.0 ? I do not see it in the news and currently seeing some code failing to create the conda environment like it did in 1.42.0.
I know 1.43.0 just released yesterday on cran, but I don't see it on the change log page
