EPSA have announced that they will hold a conference in July 2026.
😵💫 We understand that there might be some confusion about EPSS and EPSA.
👉🏽 So we thought we would clarify some things.

🏛️ @liserodland.bsky.social on which interest groups parties give access to
📣Pub Alert! Here I causally identify (one of the only outside of the USA) a negative effect of a voter ID pilot scheme from 2018. This scheme was less restrictive than that used at the 2024 GE, implying a greater proportion of people were excluded from voting in June and a fairer system is needed.
How does the “mental load” of taking care of family and household influence decisions about participating in public life?
In a new @bjpols.bsky.social paper w @annanhelgoy.bsky.social we use a survey experiment priming domestic mental load to find out.

Norwegian politics has been thrown upside-down in a couple of weeks. After 3,5 years, the unpopular Labour and rural party government broke down. The social democrats continued alone and now enjoy a massive and sudden boost of 6-10 percentage points. [1/4]
Thank you, @jamiewithorne.bsky.social! And no worries of course. Wishing you the best too and keeping my fingers crossed that our paths will cross again soon!
Based on the amount of typos in the previous posts, I'll call it a day now by once again thanking everyone for making my public defence more enjoyable than I ever imagined it could be (10/10) ✨️
In the second paper, I show that parties tend to grant access to more groups representing a more diverse set of interests on policy areas that are important to them. (9/n)
The first paper looks at interest group position-taking on partisan policy dimensions and is beautifully summed uo by @vibekewoien.bsky.social here: (8/n)
Two of the papers are published in @jeppjournal.bsky.social and the thesis is now available here: (7/n)
In my thesis, I focus on two things: 1) the extent to which interest groups supplement political parties as intermediaries between citizens and policymakers, and 2) the role of party salience for party decisions about what interest groups they grant access to and accept suggestiongs from (6/n)
I feel extremely privileged to have collagues and friends like @annanhelgoy.bsky.social, @tamtagelashvili.bsky.social, @inalkristiansen.bsky.social, @elibaltz.bsky.social and the rest of the PhDs at ISV. Your speech(es) put the cherry on top of this day and made it one to remember 🥹 (5/n)
Many thanks also to family, friends and collagues who came to my trial lecture and viva, and who have suppported me along the way.
I am also very grateful to my supervisors @allernelin.bsky.social and @boelstad.bsky.social for their advice and encouragement along the way, and to @vibekewoien.bsky.social and @allernelin.bsky.social for great paper collaborations. 3/n
First, I am very thankful to my committe, @annebind.bsky.social, @ibenskasr.bsky.social and @jacobnyrup.bsky.social, for a constructive report and for insightful, fun and inspiring conversations about interest groups, political parties and representation during the viva part of my defence. 2/n
On Thursday last week I successfully defended my PhD thesis on Interest groups and political representation in long-established European democracies at @statsvitenskap.bsky.social 🎉 A 🧵 of appreciation dedicated to all who made the day so fun and memorable (and some words about my research 🤓) 1/n
So excited to see @vibekewoien.bsky.social's and my paper published in @jeppjournal.bsky.social 🎉 Many thanks to Vibeke for an excellent collaboration and to everyone who gave us feedback on how to improve the paper along the way. Check out Vibeke's 🧵for a summary of our findings:
