Thatβs utterly grim to see.

Thatβs utterly grim to see.
Itβs encouraging that the Deputy Mayor is keen to meet with communities directly affected and to hear more about their recommendations. This is a positive step toward tackling these structural inequalities.

Huge gaps remain for Romani (Gypsy),Roma & Irish Travellers, only 37% are in work vs 74% of White British adults - women disproportionately affected.
Β
I shared a new Traveller Movement & Womenβs Budget Group report with the Deputy Mayor today, and itβs promising that he's agreed to meet with them.

From the new Private Eye, in shops now.
Greens are very clear that we support the Iranian people in their struggle against their authoritarian leadership AND we do not believe that peace and change are brought about through widespread bombing and harming people across the region.
Kemi Badenoch on Today just now.
βI want to stand by those parents who send their sons and daughters into war.β
Isnβt it the politicians that are doing the sending?
For all the people paid to give opinions on TV who keep wondering why the Greens are surging, here's your answer: have principles and stick to them.
Zack on Laura K
The Green Party has been consistent on our position.
We support the Iranian people in their struggle against the brutal Regime.
And we oppose illegal bombing from the USA and Israel that has already killed countless civilians and risks an all out Regional war.
So much this.
Itβs feeling so much more like the old place on here just recently - Iβm even finding much more useful connection and sharing of info between campaigners that was so brilliant in the before times.
A chilly evening, under a full moon, on Clapham Common remembering Sarah Everard five years after her murder.
Absolute clarity about the urgent need for us all, and especially the police, to root out gender based harm affecting women, girls, non binary and trans people.
Rest in peace Sarah.
May she rest in peace. Still makes me weep.
Bad take.
Especially as this is one thing Labour is actually getting right. π€·ββοΈ

There's nothing the establishment is more scared of them a calm, kind, thoughtful gardener who happens to be a Muslim man in politics.
We'll stand together. Solidarity Mothin.
Are the Liberal Democrats on a recruitment drive today? For the Green Party?

So much this. I remember in the 1970s people just driving less and sharing rides and my mum and dad even got bicycles!
A diagram showing how a 2 minute delay to an active travel trip reduces the accessible area from a 15-minute trip by 25%
As I was made to wait 2.5 minutes to cross a road this morning, let's again do the maths simple.ghost.io/lets-do-the-...
Haringey u-turning on bringing in bus lanes so returning Β£10m to TfL, and buses will still be blocked by tons of cars. π€·ββοΈ
What a contrast to Oxford St where we are finally seeing the radical reprioritisation of road space needed to meet a future vision for our city.
Lots of data. Iβm in a meeting but:

This comes after I tabled a motion warning that with RoadPeace gone, Londoners are being left without crucial services and calling on him to ensure survivors of crashes and bereaved families are not abandoned.

RoadPeace, the charity supporting people affected by road crashes, is no longer operating.
I asked the Mayor how he will step in to make sure survivors and bereaved families can still get the peer to peer help they need, support that RoadPeace used to provide.
People riding e-scooters in a blue painted bike lane next to a couple of red buses.
TfL has published data today showing that since the launch of the e-scooter trial, "five million trips have been taken, totalling more than 10 million km - enough to travel around the world 250 times"
This is the mobility shift needed in cities to cut congestion and move people around.
(Not AVs!)
Extraordinary to see the Greens polling five points ahead of Labour and the Tories and closing in fast on Reform.
Clearly the Zack Polanski effect.
I thought there were already three progressive, inclusive and intersectional feminist Green Party women MPs - so this makes four?
*Wiping a tear*.
Itβs been a long hard slog to get to the point where a great @greenparty.org.uk candidate like @greenpartyhan.bsky.social can be elected in a parliamentary by election.
Iβm so looking forward to seeing how Hannah uses her voice to stand up for people in Gorton and Denton. π πΆ
Calling out authoritarian behaviour is not something new for the Green Party. We have always defended human rights β from Tibet to Hong Kong to the US.
We will continue to stand up for the rule of law, at home and across the world.

Permission for illegal military action from British bases?
Based on 2 days knocking 10am-7:30pm in Denton last weekend.
I found noone who had been knocked by Labour or Reform. Where were their door knockers?
Many switching from both Conservative or Labour to Green over Reform.
No one liked division and all furious re political mess & cost of living.
