Help support Husam Maarouf, a Palestinian poet, novelist, editor, and pubisher from Gaza, whose life and work are at grave risk. Husam is currently applying to the PAUSE Program in France, which provides urgent assistance to scholars and artists in exile. The program offers safety and the chance to continue creative work in collaboration with French institutions. A French university has already agreed to act as his host, offering the framework Husam needs to begin his residency. To make this possible, we need to raise €42,000. This sum will cover costs not fully financed by PAUSE and secure Husam and his family’s life in France for one year. It will make it possible to cover administrative procedures and visa fees, the relocation from Gaza to Paris including evacuation costs, as well as housing and daily living expenses for the first year.
