I'm banking on: it's far too early to tell, and they've been wrong a lot.

Montreal has this too. Solidarity, you're not alone.
Most people also won’t finish your 500-word article. So write at whatever length is appropriate for the subject.
I can only dream of this in Outremont.
(If O tried this, I could see drivers creating an army to march on borough HQ.)
But...space isn't free, and drivers have been coddled for too long.
(Now you understand why I came dead last in the election.)
:)
Not a matter of should: it WILL do this.
Renewables were already outcompeting oil and gas. No country saw Cuba & said 'oil reliance is good.'
The current price volatility actually makes long term Canadian LNG and oil projects LESS viable as it speeds that renewable transition. #CDNpoli #CDNmedia
Just came back from bookshopping at Renaud-Bray, and was reminded that French booksellers are tops at selling mass-market paperbacks, for great prices.
I stopped shopping at Indigo years ago, bc $40/book was ruining me.
I hope this catches on, tho the article lists several reasons why it probably won't.
Canadian bookseller Indigo is experimenting with mass-market paperbacks (for new Canadian nonfiction):

This is not good.
Oh I'm sure that doesnt explain every country.
But for me, an expat American, it explained the US part.
You're right. I keep forgetting this. Thanks for returning my sanity. :)
17 cm of snow predicted for Wednesday ??
Ugh just shoot me already.
Chart explaining why its so difficult living in the US today
Spent the night digesting this chart.
And...in the US case...this is what you get when you embrace unchecked individualism above all else, and always put it ahead of community concerns.
Line graph time series of change in global ocean heat content since 1955 over the 0-2000 m layer through 2025. There is a long-term increasing trend.
Global ocean heat content continues upward and reached a new record high level - new update just in from the Japan Meteorological Agency dataset... 🌊

Family perched over regional bike maps
Enough with these atrocious temperatures.
Planning spring/summer bike adventures.
OPINION: If we cannot feel the death of an Iranian child with the same moral clarity as the death of a child in the United States, then something in us has been deformed.
By all rights, spring biking weather should start NOW (instead, windchill is at ~ -16.)
I am not a winter cyclist.
Winter is feeling longer for me this year, bc I had to give up biking earlier.
The (failed hehe) campaign ate up a lot of the time I'd usually spend biking in October, and an early brutal snowstorm/shift to full-on winter in the friggin 1st week of November killed all cycling possibilities.
Canadian passport
Finally received.
Now I just need to find the drugs that will let me fly somewhere.
Lol.
This will likely happen with the (fanciful) Alberta pipeline too:

Oh dear god. How horrible.
And 100% on your patriarchy observation. Femicide almost becomes expected in our systems bc of it.
Exactly.
And while we do a great job of commemorating it every year, we as a society really turn a blind eye to contemporary femicides.
Ok. Going to make an honest effort at vacation-eering.
Exactly. And shout out to editors specifically.
Shelters have no space, and funding is hard to come by. Anf studies have found that there is a 'copycat' effect with these sorts of crimes.
A national (Qc) emergency needs to be called, imo.
I remember when we were living in France, and there was a particularly heinous (tho they all are) femicide.
Macron responded by launching a national conversation, and travelled throughout the country talking about it.
I feel like something similar is needed here.
