To be clear, the agency responsible for making the payment always drives the payment process. Currently, Treasury staff members working with Tom Krause, a Treasury employee, will have read-only access to the coded data of the Fiscal Service’s payment systems in order to continue this operational efficiency assessment. This is similar to the kind of access that Treasury provides to individuals reviewing Treasury systems, such as auditors, and that follows practices associated with protecting the integrity of the systems and business processes. Mr. Krause is conducting this effort in coordination with veteran career Treasury officials, and all operational processes continue to be conducted only by career Treasury staff in accordance with all standard security, safety, and privacy standards.
This Treasury letter does not contradict reporting by WIRED & TPM. It says "Treasury staff members working with Tom Krause" have read-only access, and "all operational processes" are conducted by Treasury staff.
That doesn't deny DOGE has admin and altered code.

Every Republican member of the House and Senate not living up to the oath they swore should be impeached immediately.
They all "followed orders." It's their job to investigate actual or suspected federal crimes.
They all took an oath, but unlike many in D.C., they actually followed theirs.
And if any of them did act inappropriately during the investigation, there's an OPR process for that.
Confirmation bias will hinder their desire/ability to admit their fatal error, which was not listening to *all* of Trump's rhetoric during the campaign. Everything that is happening was predicted by those of us on the left who paid attention to every shitty word.
There are still people justifying why they didn't vote because they're unhappy with the way things are.

If 1 vote every 2 years gets you a single piece of legislative progress, that's a pretty solid return relative to your commitment.

I'm kind of curious why Elon's hunt for "waste" doesn't include the multiple salaries he draws as CEO of various companies where he is clearly not in the office working, given that he's in D.C. firebombing the government all day. You'd think shareholders would be upset their CEO took off.

Been saying this for YEARS. How is someone who led a coup and attack on the Capitol not in prison? Why the fuck was he allowed to run for president, and just treated like a "normal" candidate? Where were/are all the people who vowed to protect the US from enemies "foreign and DOMESTIC"?

I find it surprising there were/are no fail-safe mechanisms to prevent these events from continuing.
The shock and awe Musk, Vought, Bannon and Trump — are bringing will backfire if we’re smart about it. Make clear that DOGE is the Dept of Govt Extermination, not Efficiency. Let people see that their taxes are no longer paying for vital public services but to fatten the richest people on earth.
