youโre a dea* cause you sing and you play the bass. letโs say the peeps that itโs not so easy.
*โdeaโ 'goddess' is the Italian word for divinity but in the feminine singular. i love this word and its sound.
thanks a lot marieelerose.bandcamp.com (5-string bass โจ)
Screenshot of a Bluesky post originally reading What NEW MUSIC are you enjoying (or planning to enjoy?) on this fine NEW MUSIC Friday? Words have been crossed out with redline and handwritten text has been added so that the image reads What COOL MUSIC are you purchasing (or planning to purchase) on this fine BANDCAMP Friday?
love those corrections โจ

because there's already too much music around. take something and make it your own. personalise it. take a used piece of furniture and paint it, give it a new colour instead of abandoning it to time.

hey labels! is it
really convenient (for
music and artists) that
after a while you free/pay
what you want releases?
it's about music, not
milk: it shouldn't have
an expiry date
or should it?

Itโs good to remember that even when youโre not actually making music, eg not playing an instrument, you can still be making music. Like, thinking about music is making music. And thinking about other stuff is probably also making music. And not thinking about anything definitely making music.
a page from Music for Magnetic Tape No.1. Andrzej Dobrowolskiโs work is extremely varied, comprising symphonic, chamber and electronic compositions. In the electronic strand, particularly noteworthy is Muzyka na taลmฤ magnetofonowฤ nr.1 (โMusic for Magnetic Tape no.1โ), the performance of which at the Warsaw Autumn festival in 1962 and 1963 was an important event for Polish music and a watershed in the composerโs output. In the wake of its first performance, electronic music became a characteristic element of Dobrowolskiโs style. He was also interested in harmony, as evidenced by the publication, in 1967, of Metodyka nauczania harmonii w szkoลach muzycznych II stopnia (โA method of teaching harmony in secondary schools of musicโ).

do something joyful for yourself today. read some poems. bake a cake and eat it warm. listen to your favorite record. watch several king of the hill episodes. pet a dog or cat. go for a walk and listen to the birds. text a friend. turn off the news, go outside, and exhale. you deserve this

It is 222 A.D. You are the transgender Empress Elagabalus, "call me not a man for I am a woman". Transitioning is new and experimental. It is 1776. You are "Public Universal Friend", a transmasculine Quaker. Transitioning is new and experimental. It is 1906. You are Karl M. Baer, a trans man undergoing sex reassignment. Transitioning is new and experimental. It is 1930. You are Lili Elbe. Transitioning is new and experimental. (to be fair you did get a uterus transplant.) It is 1966. You are in Compton's Cafeteria with a bunch of other trans people when the owners call the cops to throw you all out. You riot. Transitioning is new and experimental. It is 1969. You are Marsha "pay it no mind" Johnson. You are in a mob-run gay bar when the cops attack. You throw a brick. There is a bit of a scuffle. Transitioning is new and experimental. It is 2026. You are a transgender adult or child listening to the NYT and British Guardian claim this is the first generation anyone has tried transitioning in. Transitioning is new and experimental.

the mixtape is an artisanal concept and each mixtape, each audiotape, beautifully illustrates the Deleuzian concept of the rhizome. the mixtape is also an infinite treasure by the very nature of the tape, as lofi and mr. basinski reminded us. mixtapes will rules forever.
the mixtape is superior to the playlist precisely because of its limitations: what selections from the makerโs music collection can fit on a C-90. & it was a labor of love, pushing record, stopping just in time, over & over. not to mention intricately thought-out cover art on the insert
anyway the quote is from rocky horror picture show but only by assonance (over at the frankenstein place)

people go to the fediverse, which also hosts soc. media. just moving around does not solve any problems. it exacerbates many of them, such as the tendency to only associate with people who are similar or the same as us. probably the fediverse does not speculate on it but it is far from pedagogical.
really donโt know but I loved myspace
I definitely love confusing young people (not only posting old memes).
ps. inside this meme there is a (almost) quote.
