I need to see "GOAT" (by word of mouth I can't stop hearing how Sony Animation is doing Good Stuff, Actually) but I don't wanna see it Polish dubbed. They translated it to "Great little goat" as the title and made it sound like another run of the mill cheap kiddie movie with that...
Mabel was kinda too "not like the other girls!" Disney protagonist in the sheer vibe and design. The beginning of the movie was a SLOG for me to get through.
....Apologies for the rambling but yeah lol
Not to dismiss the sheer skill here, of course, but I think the only designs I really liked was the bear coupled with how she was animated, and the caterpillar. The beavers, which are the focus, just kinda looked... generically cute to me.
I think a lot of creativity WAS there, if subdued, but man I had a lot of thoughts fast about it lol. It's mid+ tier Pixar for me, they've done so much better before.
If you'll let me ramble 😅 I think most of the character designs were... honestly, pretty forgettable.

Honestly there's a lot of it that felt very meh and plot-point-goes-here-checklist. Imo it was fun when it leaned into how creatively crazy you can go with the premise but most of the emotional beats were.. meh. Nice 2 see someone else who wasn't enarmoured with it like most folks are

God I wish life was full of quick easy fixes! And it simply isn't! It does frustrate me, yeah!
Like in some ways it causes clashes between us, but I told my dad that I am /glad/ he doesn't /get/ addiction and the blinding downward spiral of it. That is not calling you dumb, dad. There's just a reason an addict can usually recognize another addictive person nearly instinctively a lot of times.
-with some topics that cause me frustration, doesn't mean my reactions/what I say is supposed to make you feel guilty for it? Tenderness/care =/= walking on eggshells around someone. I have weird reactions to things at times! Those are not your responsibility to fix, but mine! 'Sokay

(But yeah as you can see I am a natural yapper, you couple that with someone wanting company and telling their life story and a few brewskis with a trusty pack of cigs, and now you know how I would mysteriously disappear for a few hours at night at times lol)
(But then again maybe my view of homeless folks is skewed because most of the ones I talked to were in their fifties-sixties and just naturally more mellow than young men worryingly often amped up on questionable quality drugs, which I do know are around the neighborhood too)
