Oh I’m well aware haha. I grew up in a hockey town and played hockey for years (as did both my brothers). But I do find it genuinely heartening that the top player in Canada, the player so many young people look up to, is not conservative. I hope hockey culture more broadly can change.
I was struck by the number of athletes for whom this would be their last Olympics. We need to change things before it’s too late.
