More about the Swedish Baroness Marika Stjernstedt. From the Swedish Newspaper "Dagens Nyheter" on October 28th, 1915. They say that she was the first civilian woman to visit the French Front. Could it have been like that? @ri315e.bsky.social @thegreatwargroup.bsky.social English translation below.
I have written a small article about the Swedish contribution to the rebuild of the French villages on the battlefield after the Great War. Read it through the link below:

#595. Knute W Nordstrom (Knut Wilhelm NordstrΓΆm). Born September 26th, 1891 in Hed parish, VΓ€stmanland county. He survived the time before the Armistice but later died of Lobar Pneumonia and buried in Luxembourg on March 14th, 1919. He is today buried at the Arlington American Cemetery.
I am scanning lists all over again and sometimes the work comes out with new findings. I am adding three more soldiers to my database, Swedish born, who fought and fell in the Great War. Total number at this date: 593 soldiers. Will I find 600?
#593 - Rudolph (Rudolf) Lundberg, Gestad, Sweden.

Bound by Blood, Broken by War: The story of the Gylfe Brothers.
This is the small story about the Gylfe brothers. One of them didn't come home. One of them was awarded a very nice French Award. I hope you will find it interesting.

3) 18% of the soldiers in the US Army at that time were foreign born. Around 1 of 5 draftees at that time were born overseas. Some units, like the 77th US Division within the American Expeditionary Force were called "Melting Pot units". I will try to draw more conclusions later.
2) I haven't been able to connect the figures to where they lived as the soldiers mobilized in larger camps, often very far from their hometowns. Between 1901-1920 around 14,5 million immigrants arrived to the USA. Around 500 000 immigrants served in the US Army during the Great War. (cont)
1) I made a small diagram from the data I have in my research, showing in which US Division the Swedish born soldiers who fell (375) in the Great war for the American Expeditionary Force, served. (cont) @thegreatwargroup.bsky.social
