Since I have no idea how I will use this account, I’ll add my latest thought. I saw Transformers One last night and that was an amazing movie.
So we have federated alternatives getting popularity for Twitter and to a lesser extent Reddit but still a start. I wonder if a federated alternative to LinkedIn is possible.
IT is weird, and infosec suffers from this as well when it comes to automation in that it only creates more work. You automate easy thing and now focus on harder thing only to discover 3 new things that need addressing.
Once you are in the Apple ecosystem it’s really hard to escape. I’ve been testing a Pixel 7 Pro and I really like that device.
ChatGPT or Bard, they both help with very simple scripts that make administrative work easier. I wanted to check a service and if it existed first but the language used was not one I was familiar with. It wrote it and I moved on. In the past I could have pieced that together but this was easy.
Writing SOC playbooks with ChatGPT is pretty generic but it saves a lot of time on the template.
Hopefully this community grows like the other alternatives. It has been the smoothest so far to use.
Why are 5 person security teams expected to stop nation-state attacks?
SIEM, data lake, whatever, doesn’t matter if you don’t have the right logs.

Is Black Hat worth attending? I’ve always debated whether those conferences have value or have became too much of a trade show.
I got the ROG Ally and if you aren’t invested in the Steam eco system it’s worth considering.
War games is a classic . The concepts are conceivable at least and not fantasy.
