"Farage has given two contradictory versions of the purchase. One that he bought it and the other that his girlfriend owns it. If the second is correct then he has Βengineered a massive saving on stamp duty, larger than the one that forced Angela Rayner to resign." www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news...
It was so good, wasnβt it π€£
Biddy Baxter in the Blue Peter office.
We are sad to report that longtime Blue Peter Editor Biddy Baxter has died at the age of 92. We salute a true pioneer, who navigated changing times in the television industry with instinct, tenacity and style.
Fingers crossed, I will be one of the guides taking people round Broadcasting House.
I listened to him on Radio Aire in the early 80s - was quite radical compared to the normal ILR stations (though my local, Pennine were great in other ways - their computer show broadcast software on-air for you to tape!).
He's one of Britain's richest men. So why does Asif Aziz's property company keep leasing London gift shops to overseas students based in abandoned offices or flytipped car parks β before vanishing without paying millions of pounds in taxes? www.londoncentric.media/p/asf-aziz-l...
Whatβs that radio? Appeals to my inner/outer nerd π
Crazy number of helicopters shuttling back and forth from Silverstone this morning
Pretty rubbish frame dropping in the handheld cameras for the 1975.. Though I donβt really know them and have 30 mins of Self Esteem still to watch - probably going back there - it was fantastic. Mainly watching for the UHD..
Unlikely as itβs not a stage covered normally unless thereβs something really of note, then itβs often only shot with one camera for a feature.
www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/epis... Slowly appearing in Extras.
Shed Seven just reminding everyone of just how amazing they are.. Saw them lots in the 90s including their only other #glastonbury appearance.
Skyβs Isle of Wight coverage is bonkers. They seem to choose the songs which contain the most swearing then have to put noise over half the song.. Case in point Paul Heatonβs Donβt Marry Her with the f**k me lyric every 20 seconds. Last night Example swore every line in the one song they showed.
RIP Mike from Mikeβs Carpets (his adverts were a staple on Yorkshire Televison) youtu.be/r9giGnsov94?...
THANK YOU, LONDON!!
See you again tomorrow night!!
I was there tonight - very good and not sold out so loads of space! Great as ever. 2030 on stage done by 2210..
Quite bonkers going to a Sparks gig and hearing songs which are half a century old but sound like they were written far more recently. Also nice - no pushing and shoving, and barely anyone drinking / pushing through to get to the bar.
Missed that (I was on a train to Wood Norton, then watching in a pub). Think it was probably the only useful thing from what I saw.. I was with a vendor earlier in the day and was kind of praying for a beefed up Apple TV which could make their tools even better, but never mind..
No 25/50 fps from the video at least
A cartoon of a dalek and cyberman singing Bucks Fizz's Making your mind up, the cyberman is singing in to the Dalek's 'microphone' arm and whipping off its skirt. With the lyrics "and if you want to see some more" across the top.
I've not seen today's Doctor Who Eurovision special yet, but I assume this happens. #doctorwho #eurovision
Think itβs liveedit.app - though the BBC has gone with the former CuePilot for some of our automation..
Iβd disagree but also itβs not a great year in terms of the songs!
A few years ago it was Β£300,000 a year which for 3x 2-3 hour prime time slots - far cheaper than drama and most other shows.. But theyβve also got radio coverage and a fair bit of online / social tooβ¦ No doubt a huge amount cheaper than sports rights..
40 years ago walking over Ilkley Moor back towards Bradford on a school camping weekend we saw a thick black tower of smoke rising from the city. That night we watched it on TV, could still smell the smoke in the air from 4 miles away, wondering whether anyone from school had died watching football.
Though just had an email from them saying βcan you check your bags in - flight is busyββ¦
Weβre on BA tomorrow, wafted along with a free G&T en-route and few worries about bags on board π
Just found out from the in-laws that you can lock spending within the app⦠Just done that!
Happened to my in-laws recently.
Apparently itβs really common as thereβs little security around it. They got their points back pretty quickly.
Love, love, love the new Pulp single, Spike Island. Instantly boppy. And new album in June!.. Still, not quite enough to persuade me to go to the hellhole of the O2 having seen them on the last tour at the Hammersmith Apollo in 2023.
