Real safety comes from strong communities—Neighbors looking out for each other.

Instead of spending billions on detention camps, we should invest in schools, infrastructure, and services that actually keep people safe.

Michigan will get through this how we always do: by showing up for each other.

We’ve seen what these surges look like: families living in fear, kids missing school, small businesses struggling, and local resources stretched thin.

We don’t want that in Michigan—and we don’t need it.

Right now, Washington is pouring billions into expanding ICE operations nationwide, sending federal agents into communities they don’t know and aren’t accountable to.

That isn’t public safety. It’s political theater. And communities pay the price.

Grateful to be joined by Royal Oak Mayor Michael Fournier and organizers from CAFE (Community Aid for Empowerment), Detroit People’s Assembly, and TimeBank—leaders already stepping up every day for our neighbors.
