Last night @spspnews.bsky.social celebrated the accomplishments of @afhayes.bsky.social, awarding him the Methodological Innovator Award. It was incredibly moving to see methods development celebrated at #SPSP2026. Congratulations Andy!

Some times you have to make work a game. And today that game was called βDelete 20 words per paragraph in your paperβ. I genuinely did not think I could do this, but it made the whole paper much tighter.
Any money is worth celebrating!

Yes, I agree it shouldn't be required. Both because it could incentivize poor behavior, and the invitations are not ubiquitous. I think we should also consider broadening the reviewer base (don't just always invite the most famous scholar in topic A)
This is great! Much more articulate than my tiny post
Wow, that's even more frustrating that they offered but didn't honor the system

Yeah itβs tricky because students are often not asked. But they do submit. Just had a convo with a grad student about this issue this week where they want review experience but donβt get asked.
I would love to see journals with APCs offer discounts for completing reviews. 2-3 reviews = one free submission.
I like the idea of a paper karma system. When you get two reviews on a paper, accept two reviews. I used to do this more closely and Iβve lost track but Iβm consider returning because I feel similarly overwhelmed.
I think youβre contractually obligated to say that.
Too glib for my regression class, do you think?
Today I merged branches in the correct direction on my first try, perhaps for the first time in my life. #github
Glad I could help!
