New ICE facilities could bankrupt rural Pa. towns
Residents near two rural Pennsylvania communities could see major losses with the placement of local ICE detention facilities.
“Coal Region Canary published last week that Tremont, a rural community located 1 hr north of Harrisburg, is expected to lose $195,000 annually, or 60% of its property tax budget since DHS purchased a former Big Lots warehouse to convert to a detainment depot.”

On top of the inhumanity of ICE detention facilities and the violence they perpetuate, they're predicted to do significant damage to local tax bases - making the harm even more widespread.

ICE Out: Philly labor and progressive organizations prepare for potential surge
Philadelphia’s ICE Out legislation seeks to impose local regulations on federal immigration officials ahead of possible massive deployment.
Legislation proposed in Philadelphia “...does everything within the city’s power to restrict ICE here in Philadelphia,” Councilmember Kendra Brooks said. “it gets to 3 specific points: ICE out of the shadows, ICE out of city data and ICE out of city spaces.”

3 Pa. Republicans join House Dems to extend ACA subsidies
Seventeen Republicans voted with all House Democrats to pass an ACA extension on Thursday.
Yesterday, 17 Republicans voted to extend the enhanced ACA subsidies, including 3 from PA! The only reason they did is because people like you kept up the pressure. This is our victory. Let’s keep up the momentum as the action turns to the Senate!

A vote is happening TODAY to renew the enhanced ACA tax credits - lifelines that help millions afford health insurance. Without them, nearly 300,000 Pennsylvanians will lose their coverage and prices will skyrocket for *everyone* regardless of how you're insured.
We say no #HealthcareHeist!

Our lives are on the line.
