February episode will be slightly late due to a series of unfortunate events (Barclay got stuck in Florida because the blizzard cancelled its flight back to New York). Thanks for your patience folks!

If you want to recommend us a game, you can drop a reply here or send us an email at tabletopbookclub@gmail.com.
We especially encourage you to send an email if you'd like us to cover a game that you wrote/designed!
We're looking for games to feature throughout 2026 on our show, especially indie games by marginalized designers.
In the past, we've covered legacy games like "Triangle Agency" and "Yazeba's Bed & Breakfast", shorter games such as "in pitch we are preserved", and we're open to anything in-between!
Is there a TTRPG that you love(d) reading?
Whether it's a diegetic game manual to a dead MMORPG or a plaintext .doc with strong evocative language, we here at Tabletop Book Club want to hear about it!
On Tabletop Book Club, Barclay & Bee read a new game every month and discuss its writing.
On the left, a drawing depicting Barclay Travis, a cool trans dude with sunglasses in monochrome, looking up at the viewer. On the right, a 3D model of Eclipse, a lavender-skinned lady with a pink coat covered in black eyes, a pair of thick-rimmed glasses with wingtips, a black tube-top with a golden highlight, white and cyan hair and cyan horns. They are set in a stony dovecote with gold-highlighted drapes and stars visible in the background. White and blue text reads "THE DOVECOTE, a TTRPG News & Discussion Show, Episode 84, Barclay."
TOMORROW, 2/2/2026, at 7:00 PM EST, it's The Dovecote with @barcstravis.bsky.social! Tune in as we discuss his project 'Begin Again', Zine Month, and more!

That's me! Barclay and Bee foolishly let me poison their minds with tales of mecha combat... except actually no @salvageunion.bsky.social skews a lot more towards non-combat options than you might think! Mecha isn't just for perverts (/pos & /neg), you've also got the power of collective action!
We talked to Sage about PRAISE THE HAWKMOTH KING, her dark erotic PBTA game about undead teenagers fucking devils to save the world, which you can pre-save on Backerkit now.
We talked to Adam about Salvage Union, a post-apocalyptic mech tabletop roleplaying game by Leyline Press.
Weβre back! Last month, we went to PAX: Unplugged. This month, you get the recap of our con experience, as well as interviews with Adam Seats (@iknowadamseats.bsky.social) and Sage the Anagogue (@anagogue.bsky.social).
A screenshot of Marsβs Spotify wrapped. Their top podcast, which they listened to for 414 minutes, was Tabletop Book Club. They were in the top 2% of listeners worldwide.
Tabletop Book Club my beloved,,,, @tabletopbookclub.bsky.social
even though Iβm not gonna be a host of ttrpgbc anymore, I still want yβall to support this show with everything you have. it was a joy to work on and Iβm sure will continue to be a joy to listen to post hiatus :>
Sorry! π
Weβll be back soon! And we have some great episodes from earlier this year to listen to in the meantime :)
This is a full, longer post very intentionally, but here's the TLDR as well: We're going on a hiatus for a multitude of personal reasons, and when we return, Finch will no longer be a host on the show. There is no ill-will and no big issue between us. Please respect our privacy about the matter!
So, it's been a little while. Here's an explanation for that (kind of), and a heads-up that we're taking a brief hiatus, until at least after PAX: Unplugged this year.
September episode is pushed back to mid-October Bee needs some time to relax and have a concussion. I'll release new tabletop book club when I feel like it
monthβs cursed again sorry π
hot guest βsummerβ returns in mid-october β€οΈ
i was going to say itβs unbelievable that this is a listenable episode but vidityaβs like really smart and has interesting opinions so i shouldnβt be surprised. you should know that the cold open was initially 15 minutes though
God dang I had a lot of fun with this lol
This month, we read "This Is A Game About Fishing", a queer ecopunk belonging outside belonging game by Riverhouse Games, and discussed it with @vidityavoleti.bsky.social! You can listen to the episode here:

Loved being on this episode to gush about Orbital Blues :)
This month, we read "Orbital Blues", a lo-fi space western roleplaying gameΒ from @soulmuppet.co.uk, written by Sam Sleney & Zach Cox, and discussed it with possibly its biggest fan @brianflaherty.bsky.social of @manysidedmedia.bsky.social! You can listen to the episode here:
