Now I've randomly tried to get stuff building over that time, but it was always such a hassle (updating libraries, random errors, environment configuration, etc.) that there was no joy in the creation.
Now I can create for fun again! Code has been my creative medium this week. 🤖
Ok y'all, I had a working Compose Multiplatform build running on iOS, Android, and web in one evening. While I have deep (now outdated) Android knowledge — I haven't used the tools too much since I moved into leadership 9 years ago.

I enjoyed the wood block printing, but the fashion show snaked through a whole section of the house and made it hard to move around.
It was my first after hours event (except Christmas at Kew) and not sure if I'd go back for another!
It didn't feel well organized (sent us to the wrong gate requiring an extra 30 minute walk), was overcrowded, had limited food options, and only allowed access to the smallest area of the gardens.

Went to Kew Gardens last night for Orchids After Hours. It was interesting, but I would recommend seeing Orchids during the day instead. The lighting didn't do much for the flowers and the programming was a bit meh.

So I annoyed myself when I said “I don’t have time” because it’s not true. I didn’t make the time. Me. Through my decisions. I should have said “I haven’t made the time yet.”
I feel like a lot of people think about time wrong. Been bugging me since I talked about side projects the other day and was complaining about it.
I had to remind myself that at no point in my adult life has time been given to me, or materialised out of nowhere. You have to actively create time.
Weep not, for thrill is in the noble pursuit. You will find pens that closely approach the perfection you seek, close enough to strengthen your resolve to seek further.
