New from me: The town of Jefferson is one of many NJ school districts that are facing budget cuts, but their entire high school sports slate might be gone next year. At the center is a needed budgetary tweak, NJ’s clean water, and a hope for solutions: www.nj.com/highschoolsp...

"The Moment" Is "Brat," But It's Sad And The Party Is Over - Substream Magazine Charli XCX's mockumentary is less of a satire on the artist's peak of her career, but a rumination of the struggle of keeping it her own.

“THE MOMENT” is Charli XCX’s sayonara to ‘Brat’ and everything with it. It’s less of a comedic satirization of her creative apex. Rather it’s a rumination of losing control of a party you started and wondering if that’s all you’ll be defined by: substreammagazine.com/2026/02/the-...

Y'all, it matters that journalists are being arrested on US soil for existing as journalists. Remember when we told y'all fascist regimes look a particular way. This is that.

The amount of money the US government spent on troops in DC in 2025 ($223m) would have been enough to give the city's ~5,100 homeless residents each $43,000. Instead, federal troops destroyed their meager encampments.

Richard Warnica: I spent the week in Minnesota. The only thing I’m sure of now is that more people are going to die As confrontations between ICE and protestors and activists grow more common, the tension only rises.

"The engine puttered; the inside of his 15-year-old hatchback was starting to smell like burning oil.

Within seconds Stancil was on the Expedition’s tail, no more than a few metres off the white bumper. He laid into his horn. 'Meep-Meep-Meep!' It sounded like the Roadrunner. 'Meep-Meep-Meep!'"

'28 Days Later: The Bone Temple' Depicts Idolatry As The Real Monster - Substream Magazine Nia DaCosta's film delivers the much of the infected gore you'd expect with a darker edge depicting the evil of human psyche.

Zombie films have been a metaphor for the state of society over time, but “28 Years Later: The Bone Temple” does it to reflect our own: a post-truth, ideologue driven chain of the blind leading the blind versus the empirical nature of science seeking redemption

A real news outlet publishing the phrase "Grok apologized" should result in like a week-long timeout. Think about what you've done.

Photo of two branded merch items hanging on the knob of a white door. The first is a kelly green baseball hat with the Autonomy News logo printed i lime green. The second is a black tote bag printed with our “bad stork” design. It’s a Victorian postcard showing a woman with a parasol swatting away a stork trying to bring her a baby. The red text underneath says “and the villain still pursues her” and our logo is below that in white.
Donors who hit our disclosure minimum ($1,000 and tax deductible in the US) will get *both* the hat and the bag. For transparency, we already have three donors who’ve given that much or more

imo if all the richest ppl on the planet are at once begging you to lower your standards for art and media consumption you can bet that it benefits them more than whatever they selling your ass on and should consider the opposite of what's suggested

'It Ends' Is A Nihilistic Metaphor On Post-College Uncertainty - Substream Magazine Writer/director Alexander Ullom provides a small, thematic template on the horrors of beginning adulthood and what you leave behind.

“It Ends” is a quick, 90-minute metaphorical thriller of four post-college friends on a never-ending road to nowhere. What it really does well is show the anxiety of emerging adulthood and how it pulls apart long standing bonds with people.

This N.J. wrestler declared ‘I’m gay!’ on national TV. Pro wrestling has never been the same. Nutley native Anthony Bowens has made a name for himself embracing every facet of who he is

For nj.com: Pro Wrestling storylines haven’t always been kind to the LGBTQ community - often painting them as exaggerated charactures or predator coded. But Anthony Bowens among others are in a new generation looking to change all that.

From the story:

"As storytellers," a Google job ad said last month, "we play an integral role in driving customer acquisition and long-term growth."

The listing sought a customer storytelling manager to join the company's Google Cloud storytelling team. >>One article the unit published this year was titled, 'Lowe's innovation: How Vertex Al helps create interactive shopping experiences."<<< [emphasis added]

How Disney Got Hopelessly Lost in the Slop The $1 billion partnership allows users to create A.I.-generated videos of the company’s iconic characters. That’s not going to end well for anyone.

Disney is going to immediately regret that decision when there’s a multitude of videos depicting Mickey, Minnie, Moana, and co committing crimes.

I’m so curious what the rural numbers are in terms of turnout. We’re seeing 10-15 point swings towards Ds there. If the turnout isn’t high and Nashville showed up on e-day who knows.

Anyway R+3 is a TSUNAMI result for the Dems. That’s a D+19 shift. Anything less than R+7 is full on panic for them.
