I am self-employed and between my premiums and my copays, I will spend almost $20k on healthcare this year. I thought the GOP was supposed to be the party that was pro-entrepreneurship, but at these rates most people can’t afford to try to start a business.

Update: After turning my house upside down, I just ordered new checks. Reminds me of the year I hid my Halloween candy to slow my roll eating it and months later my mom found candy bars wedged up in the drapes when she did spring cleaning.
Have you ever hidden something so well you're unable to find it? I moved my checkbook a few weeks ago when I had workers in my house and damn if I can find it now. I've looked EVERYWHERE.

I love that my pool does an event called "eggs for everyone" and if you want to participate you're supposed to bring six eggs filled with treats for kids and six eggs filled with mini-bottles and lottery tickets for adults. Not exactly how I think of southerners celebrating Easter, but hey.

My sister sent me daffodil bulbs for my birthday last fall and the first one is blooming today! What a perfect gift: I got to enjoy the possibility of it when I opened it, the planting of it in the fall, and now the blooming of it five months later... and every year!
Just had to complete a background check for a client. Only after I hit submit did I remember that I got arrested in 2020 for civil disobedience. I'll be curious to see if it shows up on my record, and if the client has an issue with it. 🤔

Nice! I usually end up paying about $650/year out of pocket because only the routine mammogram is covered and I usually have to go back for follow up imaging because of dense/fibrous tissue. I think a lot of people would just roll the dice until their next free annual screen.
