More Tiny Tunes From FY26 Q1
A compilation of music from the 4 little games I've made since the end of January. I included some trivia for each of the songs.

New Hubol game tomorrow (Feb 28th)
That foray into composing general MIDI was very exciting! And I was eager to incorporate this recording style into my new music. It has been really fun to make music with an audio track + general MIDI hybrid approach. I wonder if people will notice the different styles in the IguaRPG 2 OST!
Reaper timeline of a ten-minute song composed with general MIDI.
Recently, I made a song for my friend Oddwarg's game about trains. His new game only plays MIDI music, and each song is ten minutes long! It was really fun, and I loved the ease of changing the voice for a given track. Remember, before I would have to re-record a track if I wanted another synth!
PXTone, music composition software by Studio Pixel. AFAIK, you cannot use a MIDI controller to input notes. And you definitely couldn't record audio signals. But you could import audio samples and play them as instruments.
Psycle Modular Music Creation Studio, a music "tracker". You could use a MIDI controller to input note data, but inputs would be snapped to the rows, so it never seemed very useful. You also could not record audio input. But, like with PXTone, you could import audio files and use them as samples.
The Residents, an experimental band. This is a photo from their 2013 tour. I didn't attend, having only really gotten into them in 2014, but I found this concert footage to be bewildering. The music from this tour is pretty nice: a good mix of disgusting guitar, bizarre vocal effects, and silly synthesizers.
When I first got started making music, I used tools like PXTone and Psycle, where it was literally impossible to record audio from a mic or even input notes in realtime. And when I discovered The Residents in 2014, I became interested in limiting myself to what I (and my friends) could play.
A song from IguaRPG 2 where all the tracks are audio recordings, devoid of any obvious edits.
A recent IguaRPG 2 song where most of the tracks are MIDI. One audio track is shown, with obvious cuts for better alignment with the metronome.
If you've played my latest tiny games you might have noticed a slightly different quality to the music. I have adopted music tools from the 1980s: MIDI!
Since 2015, most of my music has been limited by what I was able to play in realtime.
Anyway, I hope you will look forward to IguaRPG 2. It will be strange and hopefully interesting!
In some ways, I am developing this game similarly to how I developed my game "2": I would try to add something new or unique to each room. There are certainly a lot of "one-off" interactions and experiences in this game!
But in the sequel, I am adding things mostly based on vibes, and rejecting the established formula. Frequently, I'll add something inconvenient or bizarre to be mean or make myself laugh. So, the game that is there is a bit incoherent.
The first game was following a very rigid formula borrowed from Oddwarg Animal RPG: Find small keys through activities > Complete activities behind small key-locked doors > Fight a boss.
Iguanas in a house with a giant vase filled with water.
Player iguana in a desert with an anthropomorphic cactus.
Player talks to Nasr, a merchant iguana stationed in a grotto.
Player talks to Jim Niss, who refuses to race them until they are poisioned x10.
I really want to release the IguaRPG 2 demo next month!
But I think the demo will be a little unorthodox. I don't really know what this game is trying to say yet. Currently, it is a collection of awkward experiences and challenges. Despite working on it for 3 years, it feels a little underdeveloped.
I have more YouTube subscribers than I realized, so I posted this video there, and now I have posted it here.

Happy Valentimes day! Back in 2019 I compiled a "Sylvie Collection" of all my past released games in one download. The collection is now updated to include all games up to the end of 2024, and they're packaged with a new launcher program. Enjoy your life - Sylvie

My new game leaked on Amazon Fire TVβ¦
I tried it and read through a lot of descriptions. Very detailed. I like the TV tropes-style list of Sylvieish attributes on each game
