Item boxes are reset after 30 of them have been taken.
However there is a bug (?) in vanilla SMK which makes down-oriented itembox resets as right-oriented itembox and vice versa.

- A little crown is there to indicate who's leading the race (just like in Shine Thief mode)
- The initial timer (default 30sec for now) can be configured in the settings between 1 and 59sec
- there might be an alternate ruleset based on HP in the future.
- The first player finishing a lap will trigger the timer of the other player making it decrease
- Upon finishing the lap, the other player will have their timer stopped.
- And again and again until one of the timer reaches 0
- Or one of the player has lapped the other (and finish a lap)
Following last week's "Endurance" Mode, here is a 2 Players version of it : "Survival" mode!

So it encourages consistency over risky driving, because if you do a "great lap" you'll have to reproduce it the next lap in order to be able to survive.
The ruleset may not be final, but that's the current one :)

Counter in the bottom left of the player's screen is the number of lap achieved, if you reach 99, the counter resets to 0 and you hear the "1up" sound, so basically if you're really consistent, endurance mode can be infinite!
- Initial timer is 30sec
- If you finish the lap before it reaches 0, the timer is then updated with the value of your last lap + "a margin" (margin that you can configure in the settings menu between 0"01 & 0"99, default value being now at 0"50)
- If the timer reaches 0"00, the race is over.
In some #SMKDX news, here is a new mode available : "Endurance" mode!

With some skill, you can even catch the 'rang again for a second throw!

(2021/12/25) Progress on my Gate Battle mode had been going smoothly, and I reworked the ruleset a bit.
Now, the scoring was more like Micro Machines, where you need a certain number of points more to win! Sudden death mode would occur if the timer hit 0 and both players were tied.

(2021/12/22) This screenshot alone summed up perfectly that we were serious about this hack, and meant business. Along with expanding the track selection, obstacles, etc. Why not hop in and expand the character roster too? Double the size and get a full 16 characters in!
