Happy mar10 day I guess
OH i forgot to label the pictures wbfbhgf
first image is the base textures, not affected by any lighting. second image is an ingame screenshot for reference. third image is the vrchat scene adjusted to match the gameβs lighting. fourth image is my avatar, to demonstrate how absurd this lighting is.
pac-mania house if the walls/floors/ceiling beams were also lit:
fun fact friday: namco museum vol 5's pac-mania room is excessively bright. like, to an absurd degree. to replicate its lighting in vrchat, you need to set the intensity of your lights to 6. that's not normal.
(the walls, floor, and ceiling beams are unlit though)
In WarioWare: Twisted, Jimmy's boss microgame can be won instantly if the console is tilted 720Β° in less than half a second. In practice, this is achieved by literally physically throwing the console.
dotonbori!!
Now he is dripping on it repeatedly. Note the dripping sounds.
when i saw this, i involuntarily said βminmoβ¦.β in a wistful tone
THIS HOUSE HAS GOOD BONES
THIS IS WHAT SAM ALTMAN WANTS TO TAKE FROM YOU

A fabricated statement from Nintendo of America's Twitter account addressing a fictitious scenario in which the Earth's oxygen supply is presumed to be depleting at a rapid pace, leaving humanity with mere days to live. "This is Miyamoto. On behalf of everyone who is employed at Nintendo Co. LTD and its subsidiaries, we deeply mourn the countless human lives which will be lost due to the depletion of the global oxygen supply. To anyone who has ever played one of our games, we are eternally grateful to have created long-lasting fun and memories for you. To ease the suffering of families and children across the world, the Mario Kart World game for the Nintendo Switch 2 system will be available as a free download on Nintendo eShop for the foreseeable future. We hope this small gesture of kindness will ease the pain as humanity prepares for a worst-case scenario." The statement is distastefully plastered with logos for Nintendo and Nintendo Switch 2, as well as with a render of Mario from Mario Kart World.
A fabricated Twitter thread responding to the fabricated Nintendo statement. John Default Profile Picture: "No one read this statement and thought it was distasteful? Why did Miyamoto think this would help anyone?" NintenDeen: "Simple: Nintendo is so depraved that they'd exploit a global crisis to boost the player count of the failed Mario Kart World and force consumers back into the Switch 2 ecosystem to boost sales and player numbers."
A fabricated Twitter thread responding to the fabricated Nintendo statement. PlayStation Nation: "What the fuck are you doing falsely advertising sales during these trying times? I went to the website and Mario Kart World is still selling for $80 USD." Kremling Kevin: "If you actually read the statement, it clearly says the discount is available on Nintendo eShop. Meaning the application on the Switch 2 itself, not the web browser version." PlayStation Nation: "Point still stands."
A fabricated Tweet responding to the fabricated Nintendo statement. Isaboner: "Nothing for Switch 1 owners?"
Had a dream that there was global panic about the world running out of oxygen, Nintendo was the only video game company to make a statement about it, and the internet collectively spent its final hours on Earth debating whether Nintendo was being genuine or not
i may be stupid.
iβve only just now realized that bad bunny is like, a real person. heβs a rapper with a career and stuff.
when i heard there was a βcontroversial bad bunny show during the super bowlβ, i just imagined a bunny mascot putting on a performance in spanish. and i never questioned that.
turns out remote player hitboxes are larger than the client player's hitbox for whatever reason, and that's the heart of the issue here
how hard could it be to synchronize a moving platform across two clients?
oh. uh. that's not supposed to happen.
m&ms adventure on the wii is the king of exposition
Namco Museum Vol. 5 Metro Cross room running in an emulator
Namco Museum Vol. 5 Metro Cross room ported to VRChat/Unity
currently, i have a pretty accurate recreation of the scene using a directional light and exponential fog. this will suffice, (and may even be preferable if you desire a smoother look,) but i'd *really* like to mimic the per-quad fog effect (most noticeable on the green Slip Zones and the windows)
!!!requesting help from anyone who can make Unity shaders!!!
i need help replicating a PlayStation effect where flat-shaded quads are darkened as the viewpoint moves further away from them, and their original colors return as it moves closer. please refer to this video demonstration:
Happy Electric Feel Friday,
only if a future game has Luigi say βthis reminds me of the time we Met Up in Bellabel Parkβ
that said, hereβs my toolset. hope it helps:
jPSXdec (extracts game files)
psxprev (extracts models from those files)
Avocado emulator (Freecam & 3D screenshots)
no$PSX (my preferred method of viewing VRAM & ripping textures)
Duckstation (high-quality emulator with texture dumping capability)
and get them aligned in Unity with a wireframe shader as a point of reference. then iβd take the character models iβve successfully extracted and animate them by hand, matching each keyframe as closely as possible. itβs very tedious and time-consuming.
so iβm probably not the teacher you want >w<
i could, but iβm admittedly not an expert at reverse engineering. my methodology is more about being stubborn and getting results. for instance, i couldnβt figure out how to extract animation data. so instead, i go frame-by-frame looking for keyframes, list when they occur, then take 3D screenshots-
both this and the leaning lamppost are actually present in Toontown Online! i considered fixing the lamp when working on Baritone Boulevard, but decided iβd like it to be authentic to the original.
the slight clipping in the tunnels was always out of view though, so i should probly give them a shave
none taken! iβm glad youβre enjoying toontown, and i appreciate that youβve brought these issues to my attention.
they should be patched up now
