Yay! Progress!!

I made pie, helped deliver food for neighbors who are impacted by ICE, made lunch plans, and have a birthday party for my spouse later tonight 💜

I mean, it started with making vegan and gluten free key lime pie. So that’s something!!

Update: I do, in fact, regret my choices

Did I just accidentally stay up until 1am? Yes.
Am I going to regret that when I have to wake up in the morning?
Also yes.

CNN in Minneapolis: We are seeing thousands and thousands of people, we've been standing on the corner here for the past ten minutes. This this crowd has not let up. It's just continuous.

Things like this remind me we’re not alone here.

As a Minnesotan, things are hard.

The song Hear My Hope from Hazbin Hotel has been in my head.
And the next day I saw the poem in the artwork on Facebook.

So, I began to create.

So here’s that art. May it bring you hope and may my hope give you strength in your fight as we all stand side by side.

I have several people sharing locations, several people have called to ask if I’m okay, everyone is scared.

This is the reality of Minnesota right now.

Does that feel “safe” to you?

I started today with a “please be safe. I love you” text. Because I don’t know if the protest/rally is going to be the last.

I had a fellow vendor cry on my shoulder as we both just try to sell our wares through another tragedy.

No less than three people told me they’re scared.

Are we great yet?

Fuck ICE.

ICE has murdered another person in broad daylight in Minneapolis.

You can’t “retrain” this. You can’t “reform” this.

Prosecute the monsters who are killing people. Abolish ICE. End this insanity.

They’re fighting for their city but they’re also fighting for all of us

I am personally okay, but here’s how to support Minnesota right now.

I don’t know what y’all are seeing in other states, but the situation in Minnesota is much worse than you think it is.

That’s not to fear monger, it’s just facts.

Someone please explain to me how tear gassing schools is “keeping us safe” or whatever ICE is supposedly doing in this country.
Explain how terrorizing teachers and students helps ANYONE.

Jason Brunner-Burns in Minneapolis, MN. • Tonight, I stood on the same ground where ICE murdered an observer. Let's be clear: this was not self-defense. It was murder. Just hours later, I found myself at a high school where an NEA member was abducted by ICE. At dismissal time-when students should be worrying about homework, rides home, and seeing their families-ICE carried out a traffic stop directly in front of the school. Our educators did what educators always do: they protected children. Brave NEA members formed a human wall on the sidewalk, shielding their students from the terror of watching someone be taken away by their own government. ICE did not target danger. They targeted a brown educator standing in that line. Without cause. Without questions. They attempted to take him into custody simply for existing. When others tried to intervene-when they dared to say no—ICE responded with handcuffs and violence. Another educator was arrested and abducted. Tear gas was deployed against teachers and students standing on a public sidewalk. Children watched their teachers be attacked. Teachers watched their colleagues disappear. What is happening in this country? And how much more are we willing to accept before we say this is not who we are?

My niece’s school was closed the rest of the week because of everything out of Minneapolis today.
ICE has been through my sister’s neighborhood daily patrolling the local high school.
My dad has a plan in place for when ICE tries to raid the Hispanic congregation at his church.

Get ICE out NOW.
