Good idea! Then I'll go rummage through some boxes in search of my Rounds and Pause CDs.

I love Four Tet! Haven't listened to them in ages. Will have to change that this afternoon.
Cover of Sebald's Austerlitz
Seems rather fitting these days to be re-reading Sebald's Austerlitz.
Cheers for that @thebeernut.bsky.social ! π»
Upstairs at the TrΓΆdelstuben beer tavern in NΓΌrnberg
The Kachelofen (tiled stove heater) at the TrΓΆdelstuben in NΓΌrnberg.
This one's for all the fans of old-style pubs, of Central European beer and wine taverns that transport you back several centuries.

I guess you need to take your blog out to the pub next year.
Here's some Salzburg for you:

No way! That's so cool!
The music's awesome! Sounds like Rush meets Aphex Twin. Who is it, and what's the name of the tune? Cheers! π»
Even then, a U isn't what it used to be.
It did seem to work in the 2010s (at least on the mixed ferm side of ledger). For me, one question is why the likes of Cascade, Jolly Pumpkin, Jester King, and others either declined, closed, or moved toward brewing more conventional beers as part of the lineup.
FWIW, Vault City's beers are tasty!
Super cool.
I'd be thinking the same thing.
Wondering who the hell wants to drink 19.2 oz of 11% ABV juice in one go. Sure, sharing is caring, but how about a good ole 12-oz can?
Looks like my kind of place.
You can never have too much Prague in your life. π»
At least there's a LokΓ‘l on just about every street corner these days. They're in Pilsen and Brno, too. And likely in other Czech cities I haven't yet visited. It's been a pretty successful concept.
Oh, I know! You're one of the references I had in mind when I wrote, "Some folks really like it." FWIW, I was there later in the evening. Still didn't do it for me as much as so many other places I've been. But it wouldn't be fun if we agreed on every last place. ππ»
H/T Jack Anderton of @europeanbarguide.bsky.social for some of these recs.
Prague, my old friend. So nice to see you again and share a few beers with you!

It's one you could safely skip if you're pressed for time. Redeeming features: the food, and its proximity to the Belvedere. Beer's sub-standard, even by Central Euro Hausbrauerei standards. π»
A beer at Wiethaler near NΓΌrnberg
Wiethaler's Goldstoff Festbier. Looks great, tastes even better. One of the beers in my annual roundup of beers that grabbed my attention this past year. π»π»

Didn't know there were that many Irish pubs in Prague ... I guess I have my work cut out for me next time I visit that fine beer town. π
You need one of these A&W rootbeer straws. 70s vintage, I think. We used to get them at the drive-thru when I was a kid.

For some reason, your name didn't hyperlink when I first posted this. At any rate, great catching up with you in Vienna! That was such a fun evening!
That may well be right. Ayinger's one of my fave breweries, but Celebrator isn't my fave Bock. Last time I bought it was pre-pandemic ... 2017? 2018? I think it still had the goat then (?). I'll look into it someday. π»
A bottle of Ayinger Celebrator on a bookshelf.
I drink a lot of Ayinger. But it's been ages since I bought a 4-pack of Celebrator. Where did all the plastic goats draped around the bottle's neck go?
For those wondering, the bookshelf is merely where I charge my phone. Nature this, nature that. I guess the goat's demise is good for the enviro.
Is the guy's name Jason? Would sound about right for an expat I know in Bamberg.
Here's some info on Munich. Not sure if it's what you're looking for, but cheers! π»

Sorry to hear that.
Frustrating. I've spent quite a bit of time over the years putting out fires, or dealing with bot attacks. And this with all the security gizmos that my platform (Wordpress) makes available.
