Successfully cut like an hour of Amadeus gameplay footage down to 6 minutes for a sound design/audio implementation showcase. I definitely still need to cut it at least in half again, but that's #progress

I have also definitely been slowly (and not intentionally) increasing the detail in these. It's not conscious, but I think my own perception of earlier backgrounds is more detailed than they are in reality, so with each new one I try to meet the standard I think I've already set. Repeat forever

Binge watching 3373947 hours of YouTube video essays is making me a better essay writer because if I ever catch myself writing "[generalized statement], and [specific example] is no exception" I will hear it in the YouTube voice and immediately delete that sentence

(wip) the nice thing about starting location BG work early at the start of development, and not 3 months before the game comes out, is that I don't have to draw them in single 6-hour marathon sessions and can actually work on them across multiple days. Huge. Is anyone else hearing about this

Really good news everybody. As I continue to work on the fairly grounded episode 2, which of course does involve a little bit of thinking ahead to the future, it's looking like episodes 4-5 are going to go way off the rails compared to what I had initially planned

I'm fully aware that it takes me about 6 hours to fully draw one of the point-and-click background images. And yet every single time I sit down to draw one I am amazed when it doesn't magically render itself in full detail after I've sketched it out

... I got distracted from that task actually and instead started drawing a new background for Amadeus 2 dkdhdhdh. What we in the business call "productive procrastination"

My chances of actually landing any sound design or audio implementation contract roles in This Economy are slim, but I'd like to have a decent reel just in case as my current one is. bad lol

I need to update my demo reel, which means I need to record a ton of Amadeus footage as it's by far my strongest portfolio piece, which means it's time to go inflate my playtime even more
