IDK how I do it as I don't think of myself as a disciplined individual, I just kinda make it part of my schedule?
@tristanstevens
Aussie nerd for games that waste many hours or make me cry. Will fawn over almost any animal. Annoying all my friends with a years-long guitar phase. A trifle in the danger zone. My rarely-updated vegan icecream recipe site: https://thechurningbush.com/

I mean I've studied geology too as part of my B.Sc, I know about how part of what makes Australia so interesting is it's inertness. But that doesn't mean some of it's endless expanses are more interesting conceptually then to actually hike through :P
Picking up an instrument's not too bad, have you tried much before?
Since I'm an Australian who has not otherwise travelled much, it was by far the biggest mountain I've ever seen. New Zealand just has way more interesting topography then Australia, especially South Island.
Aoraki is just the Maori name, it was called both while I was there and I favour the Maori names because they are just more interesting then yet another thing named after James Cook.
And oh yeah, probably about 50 other people we saw on the track? And that was just out of the main season.
Aoraki and the Hooker Valley from Mount Sealy.

It was late in the day, you can see how much of the valley is in shadow by that point (that's actually when we turned back because it was getting too late and I was tired from climbing Queenstown Hill the day before). It sucks to had to have to turn back, but it was very serene and quiet. More pics!
These pics were from a few weeks ago, still summer then! Near the end though when the season had calmed down a little bit.

Gonna share some pics while I'm here :D
My partner's the same, and because I've got her as my benchmark I feel rather iron-stomached!
A few weeks ago I was halfway up Mount Sealy in New Zealand and I remember looking down at the valley hundreds of meters below me even with the exhaustion and discomfort there was such a peace to seeing the world like that. I imagine space is both parts of that equation multiplied by a hundred.
Of course I'd do it, who wouldn't? I'd do it just for the perspective of looking down on Earth and having all my problems seeming small.
People be horny! And they can (and are probably doing so vividly) imagine all the rotational possibilities enabled by zero-G easier then they can imagine the other effects.
Well, next time I'm asked if I wanna go to space I'll take a moment to consider all this :P
I'm starting to think space does not want us to go there.
Ah, I figured there might have been an exact quote that was the inspiration for the article! I think I recalled reading something similar I just couldn't remember exactly where I saw it.
Could have been a misclick, or maybe she just recognises you and not me! I just hope I didn't contribute to her feeling attacked or something.
So yeah, very much mocking people using feminism as a bat to beat up Iran with rather then actually doing that. Kinda similar to how people use queer rights as a stick to beat the Palestinians with.
Also Moira blocked me for so much as liking your comment, which makes me sad as I support her :(
Yeah, especially because it's an Australian publication and over here there's a been a bit of using Iran's illiberalism as a justification for our support for America and Israel's attacks. Also knowing the Betoota Advocate, which has similar politics to The Onion, they aren't at all anti-feminist.
Come on, it's not that hard, There's an American using metric every second!

For those not following, Corey Lewandowski is the rough man that helps Noem sleep peacefully she was misquoting Orwell about.
As George Orwell once said,
"Rough times make rough men. Rough men make good times. I sleep peacefully after I have good times with rough men."
Ah yes, who could forget that famous George Orwell quote, βFascism is good and we should all be grateful for it.β
Kittens! Ice cream! Cuddles!
My concern would be Bungie's track record with Destiny 2 tbh! I'm just not sure it's a good idea to rush out and buy a game on launch from a company that's done all that.
Still sounds like it'd get pretty soggy! Still, to each their own, sounds a bit too beefy for me anyway =D
Wouldn't it just fall apart?
When I asked my very millennial kiwi friend what to get for our kiwi neighbor back in Australia did cite the ingredients for Kiwi dip! Also lamingtons over here in Australia are just like a bakery staple.
I'm not sure how many Aussies know Mississippi Mud Cake has no relation to America, as most sites discussing the history repeat the same few fabricated tales of it's origin. As best I can tell, it got it's American monniker because apparently Aussies in the 80s just felt America was exotic and cool.
Just gonna continue sharing my food history discoveries here for anyone passing through.
So it's called french dip because it's made from french onion flavour packet soup, but is otherwise thoroughly American. This reminds me of when I found out Mississippi Mud Cake is Australian.
