Epstein mocked Trump for “leaving his nose print on the glass” while watching young women, wrote that Trump knew about illicit activity tied to Mar-a-Lago, and visited “many times,” and noted Trump’s planned visit to his neighbor Howard Lutnick’s house.

For the love of God (or for demoing basic-consciousness): There are no “criminals” or “illegals.” There are people who commit crimes. And “crime” is not synonymous with “harm.” And legality does not equate w/morality, fairness, integrity, or even evidence-based truth.
Use your words wisely.

Hours ago, @politico.com revealed that DOGE is working with DHS on automating mass deportation efforts — likely explaining why many US citizens, green card holders, and even a Canadian (in Canada) got threatening emails last night terminating “your parole” and telling them to leave the US in 7 days.

It's worse, the staffer is wrong. Call them back and say, show me the provision in the SAVE Act that allows using a marriage certificate to confirm a name change. There isn't one. The people who drafted the bill knew what that meant. They left it out on purpose.

Called my congressman who voted for the SAVE act.
Me: What documents will I need to vote if this passes?
Staffer: a DL and birth certificate.
Me: The documents don’t match
Staffer: Then a marriage certificate.
Me: Will my husband need the marriage certificate too?
Staffer: No
Me: See the problem?

Really important to know: right now, his lawyers cannot litigate the serious first amendment issues that the law creates. Those issues will actually not be appealable until they get to the circuit court stage.

Khalil can raise his constitutional arguments both in his habeas petition (still pending in federal court in New Jersey), and once he is able to challenge the immigration judge’s ruling in the Fifth Circuit.
It sucks that he can’t raise them before the IJ, but that’s (unfortunately) not unusual.

Welp, I guess the bare-bones letter from Rubio was determined to be “facially reasonable and bona fide.”
Note that this was largely expected; the standard is exceptionally deferential. This decision will be appealable up to the Board of Immigration Appeals, and then again to the circuit courts.

Before folks overreact to headlines about the judge’s ruling in the Khalil case, please note that (1) it was an immigration judge (IJ), not a federal district court; and (2) the IJ had no power to consider Khalil’s constitutional objections.
This particular decision was a fait accompli.

The post reads, "MINNESOTA: state senator Justin Eichorn, who co-sponsored a bill to classify 'Trump Derangement Syndrome' as a mental illness... jailed for allegedly soliciting a teen for sex."
This is my shocked face.

X post from CNN reporter Priscilla Alvarez, QTing herself. The original post says: "The arrest of Mahmoud Khalil, a prominent Palestinian activist, was based on a provision of immigration law that gives the administration broad authority on who can be subject to deportation, I'm told." The QT says: "Secretary of State Marco Rubio approved the use of a broad immigration authority to detain Mahmoud Khalil and another activist on Saturday, I'm told. It’s unclear what information he was provided prior to signing off on a rarely used provision of the law to arrest the activists."
!! This seems to confirm that the Trump admin invoked an obscure Cold War-era law, INA 237(a)(4)(C), which authorizes the Secretary of State to *personally* order any noncitizen to be deported on the grounds that their presence "would have potentially serious adverse foreign policy consequences."
