Women and girls across Scotland and the rest of the UK continue to miss out on the benefits of #ActiveTravel, often because routes feel unsafe πŸš΄β€β™€οΈπŸšΆβ€β™€οΈπŸ‘©β€πŸ¦Ό

And we need safer, more connected routes that take women where they need to go.

Because when women and girls feel safer, everyone benefits ✨

Too many women are missing out on the benefits cycling brings to our health, our independence and our pockets – as well as access to education, work opportunities and nature ✨

We need to empower women and girls to see themselves as cyclists πŸ’ͺ

But it’s not a question of will. Over 1/4 of women say they do not currently cycle but would like to.

Road safety, personal safety, and safety cycling with children are some of the main barriers women face.

Social and cultural barriers also impact on women’s travel choices 🚳
