I’m often asked for examples of good ‘working in the open’ - so I’ve made a list of some of my favourites, and I’ll do my best to keep it updated as I hear about new ones. It’s called “Doing open”

Nice to see such shifts. When designers get closer to the medium their work lives in, the whole process gets clearer for everyone involved.
Training and support are key to making this real. Kudos @frankieroberto.com and team.
If anybody is free Monday afternoon at 3pm I'm going to do my final preview of my #CampDigital talk to work out the final kinks and timings - I might be talking to myself but it would be nice to have a little audience so I don't feel insane!

Always admired IF’s work, and @sarahtgold.bsky.social just launched some epic roles 🔥
That’s stunning mate!
Probably not quite what you’re looking for but been using the term adaptive journey internally to describe dynamic triaging
We're continuing to grow our UCD team on One Login at GDS, and are looking for a Technical Writer to join the team. I'm a bit biased, but we're a brilliant team working on really important things.
That’s really powerful and beautifully put. It resonated deeply—thank you for sharing.
We wrote a thing on how we’re making inner workings of GOVUK One Login more visible and by doing so improving consistency, bringing shared understanding, contributing towards joined-up experiences.
We’re designing for inclusion at scale while building one of the most sustainable government digital services in operation.
If you have any questions, please reach out. We’ll also be holding a virtual recruitment event on Thursday 3rd April at 12:00-13:00 to go through the roles in more detail.
We’re hiring 3x Senior Interaction Designers
From single sign-on, identity proofing to verifiable credentials, you’ll have the opportunity to work on some complex and impactful digital transformation work in government.
The US Web Design System deletes info on inclusive design, in response to the Executive order "Ending Radical And Wasteful Government DEI Programs...".

Just saw the news — I’m in complete shock. Thinking of everyone feeling this loss.
No way!! This is such a devastating news 😭
Hope one of these fits 😅

“lived experience eats user journey for brekkie”
“user journey hits lived experience”
“We need to build our skills and confidence in making the case for service design using numbers, talking about money and framing it as ROI (return on investment)…”
A must-read for anyone looking to quantify UCD value — loads of insights from @ignaciaorellana.bsky.social and @claragt.bsky.social
Don't scale a solution that works; create a solution that works at scale..
A thoughtful perspective from Pramod Varma - this brings inclusivity, accessibility, transparency and interoperability to the foundation of service delivery and demands looking at edge cases.
Power must be analyzed as something which circulates, or rather as something which only functions in the form of a chain. It is never localized here or there, never in anybody's hands, never appropriated as a commodity or piece of wealth. Power is employed and exercised through a net-like organization. And not only do individuals circulate between its threads; they are always in the position of simultaneously undergoing and exercising this power. They are not only its inert and consenting target; they are always also the elements of its articulation. In other words, individuals are the vehicles of power, not its points of application. ... One needs to investigate historically, and beginning from the lowest level, how mechanisms of power have been able to function. - Michel Foucault
Foucault sees power as a decentralised, dynamic process embedded in social relationships.
I see it as crucial for the well-being of nodes in a system to avoid consolidating power, as it disrupts both the circulation within the network and the internal flow of the node itself, harming both sides.
An interesting paper exploring the architecture of Open Banking, Open Finance, and Open Data.
The consent-driven ecosystem is radical, with consent at its core, giving power back to users – DPI thinking in play.
It also touches on interoperability, cryptographic safeguards, and auditability.
The paper shows how easily LLM-powered robots can be jailbroken, overriding safety protocols. It even ignores basic sanitisation.
Edge case testing in an inherently probabilistic environment is both too late and too narrow.
Ethics must be foundational—not a patch post-deployment.

Developers, do you want to verify yourself here but don't have a personal domain? You can use your GitHub account! 🦋🐱
I temporarily renamed myself to @nicolo-ribaudo.github.io :)
Shifting from standard to probabilistic distributions will bring more uncertainty and chaos to users. This will be a challenge as systemic-algo models become more vague, potentially perpetuating systemic discrimination and blind spots. UCD practice should remain at the core.
Equitable outcomes in service delivery often require looking beneath the surface, constantly learning and improving. A nice read on the one year contact centre journey. Loads of work went into this.
Glad to play a small role and work with @sconner.net @priyanca.bsky.social
This!
This is very cool, a "mistakes" page on an organisation's website, where they issue reports on mistakes made and lessons learnt. First time I've seen this

Every user interaction is processed by their nervous system, activating a sympathetic or parasympathetic response. For me, inclusive design practice means be open, humble, empathy and continuously aware of own blind spots. Context and lived experience are key to design mindful, adaptive interfaces.
Get to work with Shaun everyday, his exceptional 💚
Thank you, for building a strong foundation - I’m just walking in the path of giants really 😇
