It’s year 7 but it’s a totally different job than it was 1-2 years ago.

And most of those were rebuild years? I’m saying that the job for him completely changed within the last year.

Why are the Orioles so bad (right now)?

Most impressively, Chirinos didn’t originally start as a catcher. They basically told him half way through his career that if he wanted to see the Majors, he needed to learn to catch. And he did.

Same!! Big fan. I didn’t think he got enough credit for the unofficial coaching he was doing behind the scenes with Adley. Adley’s amazingly talented, don’t get me wrong. But Chirinos definitely brought that veteran experience to help him debut.
