8) The Delay-Accelerated Warming Vicious Cycle Problem: The more we delay action, the more difficult the problem becomes. This is not just with respect to emissions reduction curves (which get steeper as we fail to act), but with regards to warming too.
In 3 days, the number of measles cases in a highly unvaccinated area of Texas has doubled. There are now 48 cases, all of whom are unvaccinated, and 13 of whom have been hospitalized so far, for a hospitalization rate of 27%. This is huge figure in epidemiology. This outbreak will keep spreading.

Third option (the miraculous): World leaders accept science, set aside special interests, stop extracting fossil carbon and start incentives and a new paradigm that support a thriving and resilient nature.
First practical option: Pray science is wrong.
Second practical option: Pray for an enlightened species from a distant galax to arrive to earth and solve our problems.
Faced with the overwhelming problems of climate change and extinction of species we have three options: two practical and one miraculous.
