Why are fewer TDSB schools offering a summer school program in 2026?
The TDSBโs elementary literacy and numeracy summer school program will be offered at just 11 schools in 2026, less than half of the number of locations where it was offered last year
Ford and Calandra just keep punching down.
Cutting #OntEd language and math programs for vulnerable students is wrong.
โThe program is typically offered at schools in underserved communities and provides opportunities for students who have fallen behind.โ

Hm, yes, if only the provincial government would provide an option as an alternative to driving to Pearson. Maybe some sort ofโฆ express? www.thestar.com/news/gta/dou...

Doug Ford says Ontario will expropriate Billy Bishop airport to get jets in
The provincial premier said he told Toronto Mayor Olivia Chow of his governmentโs intentions during a conversation at his home.
How do we know Doug Ford is clueless about urban design and transportation? This quote:
"A lot of people don't want to be driving up to Pearson ... give people an option."
There is an option: ~13,000 people take the UP Express train *per day*. #TOpoli #ONpoli

Ford government confirms 75% reduction in number of conservation authorities | Globalnews.ca
The province announced the changes at an event on Tuesday, marking a minor shift from a previous plan to reduce the number of conservation authorities down to just seven.
NEW: The Ford government has confirmed it is amalgamating Ontarioโs 36 conservation authorities into just nine, a move critics fear will reduce key environmental protections and the government argues is necessary to provide โconsistent services.โ #OnPoli

Larger boards have lower funding per student, the chart reads. Analysis by The Local shows that the largest boards in the province receive among the lowest levels of provincial funding per student. The largest board, the Toronto District School Board, for example, which has close to a quarter of a million students, received $14,650 per student in 2025/26, while one of the smallest boards in the province, Conseil scolaire de district catholique des Aurores borรฉales, which had 841 students, received the highest amount per student in Core Education Funding at $37,501.
The province says they took over Ontarioโs biggest school boards to fix their finances after out-of-control spending. But the biggest indicator of whether a board is struggling isnโt any specific instance of poor management, but something far simpler: its size. thelocal.to/ontario-scho...

Public schools in Finland - their students consistently score above the curve in international testing - have an average class size of 19. Some schools in Doug Ford's Ontario have TWICE as many kids in them - and zero teacher assistant or aides. Education suffers when you elect an uneducated moron.

Ford defends health-care record as hospitals say financial 'crisis' is coming | CBC News
Premier Doug Ford is defending his governmentโs health-care record ahead of his eighth budget, even as the provinceโs hospitals say they face a billion-dollar structural funding deficit.
www.cbc.ca/news/canada/...
How can he defend the healthcare system that he has systematically destroyed it by underfunding it since he became Premier! Same as the Education system in Ontario destroyed it by underfunding it also! So no neither is in good standing and he should be ashamed of himself!

www.thestar.com/opinion/cont... โOpposing OSAP cuts is important, but we must demand more than a targeted financial assistance program. Ontario needs free post-secondary education. To get there, we need to talk taxesโ @ricardotranjan.bsky.social @policyalternatives.ca

Again, instead of dealing with his systematic underfunding of education in Ontario, this is about Ford looking like the hero who is fixing a problem with education.
He's going to get so much earned media for this announcement. Just like this.
This is a PR sleight of hand.

Abstinence only approaches are lazy - they skip the hard work of effective approaches that require learning, engaging, uncomfortable conversations, and relationship building.
