The question for those opposed on principle to such an orientation among Jewish communities: is this somehow different because it is the left in power? My answer is no, but I’m also not opposed to such an orientation to the degree which much of the Jewish left is.
There’s been much critique on the Jewish left of “vertical alliance”, the tendency of Jewish communities to seek protection by supplicating to whomever is in power.
