Hey, enjoyed the conversation!
It was terrifying to make. @nicolenewnham.bsky.social and I can attest.
Sorry ‘bout that.
"Fewer than half of all Christians surveyed — and just 55% of Evangelicals — felt the administration's first 100 days reflected Christian values."
YES.
SCOOP: A startup founder and early DOGE recruiter posted in a Palantir alumni Slack recruiting for a new DOGE-related project. The project's goal, he said, is to automate work that's currently performed by 70,000 federal workers. w/ @telliotter.bsky.social:

You’re an amazing photographer.
Animating too much absolutely sensible outrage at Trumpism is an appeal to parental figures who aren’t there. “He should not be allowed”; “He should be arrested”; “This can’t be permitted.” Passive voice, all of which begs, “by whom?” It’s an appeal to an order that has already broken.
Almost every line of this story would have been simply unbelievable a few months ago:
—Pioneering cancer researcher;
—*Arrested* at airport in Boston;
—Now indefinite ICE detention in Louisiana;
—"Crime": not declaring some frog-embryo samples for research.

Every retailer in America should display the original price of an item along with the new tariffed price.
Let it sink in for the slowest in the herd.
Tariffs are a tax.
You're paying for them.
I’m definitely going with the non-fascist mullet.
My hair is dangerously close to this, except with bangs. I’m Southern. Now I have to really push my stylist for the full mullet.
If you're scooping up students off the street for writing op-eds, you're secret police, and should be treated accordingly.
Also of note as Feds & even Democratic governors are pushing mask bans: 5 of the 6 plainclothes government agents are masked.
This speaks volumes:
Yale professors, Timothy Snyder, a historian of totalitarianism and the author of "On Tyranny," and Jason Stanley, a philosopher and the author of "How Fascism Works", move to Canada.

Just a reminder: having a functional moral compass right now is going to make you feel bad all the time; don’t mistakenly hate yourself for that.
You better shop around…
I don’t understand why Vance’s wife would go to Greenland. It’s really just an opportunity for Greenlanders to protest her, and could expose her to an attack by an inflamed nationalist, providing a pretext for counter-action by US forces…oh. Archduke Usha. (NOT a call for violence. Just pondering.)
Julia Louis Dreyfus: “So they just ADD him on the chat?…no…too stupid. Rewrite it.”
You cannot make this shit up. Sharing this jaw-dropping story with a gift link -- give it a read.
All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good people do nothing.
The Bonus Army had been deeply integrated.
Black and white veterans camped together, marched together, held the line together. The photos are stunning.
But in the end, state-level loopholes were used to deny many Black veterans their bonuses.
That horror finally moved Congress.
In 1936, they passed the Adjusted Compensation Act, overriding FDR’s veto.
The Bonus Army finally got their money.
MOST of them.
Bodies were loaded onto trains in pieces.
Some were never identified.
Ernest Hemingway wrote a blistering essay:
“Veterans… died like dogs for no good reason at all.”
