The reason you so many of the most annoying Twitter Politics guys are sticking by Platner has nothing to do with the candidate or policy and more to do with the fact that they can never have been wrong. I was excited about him for a bit and now I am not. Very easy thing to say if you are normal.

One of the things this site really excels (derogatory) at in comparison to others is the "making up a guy to get mad at" types being taken seriously. Every day I'm presented with a new person arguing against a position literally no one has taken.

one thing my decades of experience in online communities allows me to say authoritatively is that it's extremely good that the staff here publicly air grievances about the userbase on a regular basis, because that always lets the userbase know they're being rowdy and encourages deescalation

There seems to be TTRPG discourse on whether or not you can do horror in D&D and of course you can. You can do horror in TOON for pity's sake. It is, as always, both a question of skill and recognizing the strengths of a system and playing into that.
