Is it possible that GRX is an index used for referencing values lower in the stack, I.e., making possible to say swap [TOS] with [TOS-GRX] ?

My Commodore 64C just got a lot more fun to use π by adding the brilliant Pi1541 Zero cartridge!
What an upgrade from the datasette πΌ

Slightly more retro than usual π but fun! And kudos to those 17th and 18th century engineers for figuring this out β¦
A die photo of the Intel 386 processor under the microscope. The die has complex patterns that make up the different parts of the chip. The various blocks are roughly rectangular with different textures. The main functional blocks are labeled, including the paging unit, bus interface unit, prefetch unit, segment unit, instruction decode unit, protection test unit, data unit, and control unit. The register file, the subject of this thread, is in the lower left corner, highlighted by a red rectangle. This die photo image has a purple tint.
Intel's 386 processor (1985) moved the x86 architecture to 32 bits, but it needed to be backward compatible with earlier 16 and 8-bit processors. As a result, it needed complicated circuitry for its internal registers: six different circuits for 30 registers. Let's look at the silicon circuits. 1/N
...but will it play Spacewar π
I am pretty sure it will; looking really good!!
I have 3 left in the drawer just to make sure my uv eraser still has a purpose π
Nice! I only have this one, but I like it a lot! Itβs the Micro UK101, a Grant Searle design, PCB by Steve Gray: cbmsteve.ca/microuk101/i...
My C64 just got the best digital video output I could ever dream of. The VIC-II-Dizer and an RGB2HDMI bought from c0pperdragon.
This is definitely a 5-star rated solution. Excellent.
(unfortunately the photo of the screen doesn't really capture how good the picture is)

This is so much better than PDF files π got this original handbook today! The book is from 1980 but in good condition.

Despite this decline, the word is very much alive in companies using IBM Z machines. We usually talk about the mainframe, and the decentralised platform for everything else π
I fully agree, and disruptions like this does not only impact economy, but also security. The cheaper the AI, the higher is the risk of malicious use.
Or any other AI not totally transparent about what happens to my queries...

As always, you are posting amazingly detailed information of high value, thank you! My knowledge about digital logic keeps growing from reading your articles.
I am happy that I managed to revive this HP-41CV which I picked up very cheap because of heavy leakage from the batteries.
Thorough cleaning and a new battery/port bay and screw mounts made the difference!
Have to mention this HP-41CV is 41 years old π

Sorry for your loss π₯Ί he looks like a very cute cat. A very hard, but good decision by you.
I notice there is an evaluation license, gotta try it out one of these days!
Do you like using the Oshonsoft tools? I have seen it before, but never really tried using it...
Breadboard NOR gate
"Fly me to the moon" - the Apollo Guidance Computer was basically build on this resistor-transistor NOR gate, each IC containing 3 or 6 transistors, forming either a single 3-input NOR chip, or a double 3-input NOR chip.

I did the following: Request a download copy of your entire profile, to archive the history. And then use the app "Redact Privacy" to delete everything, it worked like a charm π
ZX81, shortly after replaced by a 16K ZX Spectrum
Changed??!? Except for a missing Internet connection, I think the scene is pretty much the same today for young gamers π
