A big part of the authoritarian playbook is war. War takes over the news. War blots out criticism. War divides a nation’s people, subjecting those against it to being called unpatriotic. War grants leaders all sorts of emergency powers. War consumes everything else.

We mustn’t let this war do so.

The president, who drones on about protecting women’s sports, publicly mocked the women’s gold-medal hockey team. A reminder this was never about protecting women’s sports and it was always about transphobia and misogyny.

I’m assuming any refunds will go to businesses, and that they will keep the money instead of reimbursing the consumers that they passed the costs onto.

These tariffs should have been enjoined right after they were imposed. Just another example of the Trump admin hurting families’ bottom line.

Is there any realistic chance that consumers will be refunded for illegal tariffs (taxes) they paid?

Any political party spreading lies about voter fraud as a pretext to make it harder for every one to vote is sending a clear message: they can't win on their ideas alone.

If a person is driving, even remotely, they should need to be licensed in the state.

Bad idea. ICE is pre-funded by the BBB. Also, CBP is just as bad if not worse and also pre-funded by the BBB. Severing ICE gives away any leverage we have to shut down the rest of DHS. We should be demanding to defund ICE/CBP of its BBB money and shut down ALL of DHS if they don’t agree.

Remember: Telling lies that everyone knows are lies is a classic tactic of dictators to force their followers to side with them over the truth itself.

But the public will not be gaslit. We will continue to spread the truth to our communities.

Ignorance is the handmaiden of tyranny.

I am looking forward to seeing family though.

Flying back to my old stomping grounds due to a sudden and unexpected death of a close family member. Ugh. I don’t like flying in general (air sickness and jet lag), and it’s so much harder under these circumstances.

A reminder to the news media: “conflicting accounts” is what you say BEFORE the incontrovertible video evidence appears. After that, your job is to ask why one side is lying, not to repeat the lie and pretend no one knows the truth.

Though things have sucked lately, there’s still so much potential for good. Don’t stop dreaming for a better world. Do your part to make his dreams a reality in your daily life or small corner of the globe.

Which federal agency has the most insecure and mentally/emotionally weak employees, and why is it ICE? Utter laughingstocks. It takes strength to exercise control, to not fear differences, and to treat others with respect.

The DOJ is more than three weeks late in delivering the Epstein Files. In those three weeks:

- Trump declared himself acting President of Venezuela
- ICE murdered a woman in Minnesota
- Trump is preparing an invasion of a NATO ally
- Trump initiated a criminal investigation of Fed Chair Powell
