Mug of hot cocoa topped with mini marshmallows
Hot cocoa bribe for my daughter because we walked all the way up to the door of the library before seeing it's closed today for Lincoln's birthday. Tantrum averted.
If you know the difference (and me), only I get the actual hot chocolate. A 6 yr old's palate is perfectly happy with hot cocoa.
Racism is a helluva drug.

An issue we're seeing at all levels of university is that many students are simply refusing to do *anything*. They aren't reading the syllabus, aren't following assignment guidelines, aren't engaging with material, ignoring deadlines. And this might seem like old news, but it truly has ramped up.
Two lightbulb icons representing the exchange of ideas.
I always enjoy #mentoring, but I super double down on it when things get rough or scary.
Sharing my experiences *AND* learning from someone with a different industry/perspective/generation keeps me optimistic, engaged, and fired up.
Anyone else using mentoring to stay inspired?

The semi-annual Reuse-a-Palooza at The Plant in Back of the Yards is happening Sunday, a one-stop shop for recycling, repairing and repurposing items that would otherwise go to waste.

... that problem is a massive work in progress, but a possible interim bandaid is a new approach to #mentoring at scale. Relationships that both parties learn and grow from.... based on the mosaic mentoring style. Standard mentoring is so engrained, though.
Need to noodle on this more.

In the dumpster fire that the job market is, my heart is drawn to the early career and pivoting folks displaced by AI performing entry level and automatable work. The corporate experimentation with LLMs as labor replacement is uninformed, shortsighted, and disrespectful. Fixing the source of 1/2
Cognitive warfare has been shown to be effective.
When it aligns a community to believe another community presents an existential threat, it can catalyze systemic risks including dehumanization, crimes against humanity, and related violence.

People across the country and around the world turned out on Saturday for what organizers say has been the single biggest day of protests against President Trump and his second-term actions.
In the U.S., more than a thousand rallies were planned in small towns and major cities from coast to coast.

i think it is important to say that the open and explicit racism of the president and the vice president isn’t just uncouth or “controversial” but a direct attack on tens of millions of americans and a dereliction of their duty to represent the entire country
Plan to expand presidential powers
+ flood system with illegal orders
+ wait for legal pushback limited by resources & energy
+ win in areas not challenged by fervent advocates
