Hey, not cool, Hannes! π‘π‘
And speaking of that terrible Target story, you should read this piece by @colin-fraser.net . medium.com/@colin.frase...
Honestly, I think pushing stories like these does more harm than it does good to society β and it runs the errand of the social media platforms. See, for instance, kevinmunger.substack.com/p/the-algori...

Yeah, that's also how I did it, but still felt like a can of worms where the slightest adjustments to the errors coming in the conversion process made the formatting go sideways π
Good point, Damian, thanks! And youβre right, definitely worth a try!
Exactly! Can't believe I am spending hours on converting something I spent hours making look good into something that does not
Converting a fully finished paper from LaTeX to Word is probably the most painful thing I have ever had to do. Is there really not any reeeeeeelatively easy way of doing it?
Thank you my friend β€οΈ

π’ Our new paper in Political Analysis explains how to use LLMs like GPT-4o, Llama or Mistral to estimate the ideological and policy position of political texts. Our approach is fast, reliable, cost-effective and reproducible and works with texts written in different languages 1/7 cup.org/4axBEXo
See you in Denver at #ICA25!
Iβm so happy to finally talk about this large cross-national collaboration we did last year!
I was fortunate to assemble a team of extraordinary people to study the role of ad delivery algorithms in political campaigns by collaborating with 30+ parties across the EU.
A majority of Danes are in favor of the content moderation policy, which Meta now wants to remove.
But there are also areas where most Danes believe that people can decide for themselves, e.g. whether women can share pictures of themselves topless on the beach.
See a sample from our report below:
Having compiled the entirety of my dissertation for the first time has quite a surreal feeling to it
Meta drops content moderation which users want! β
New data show that users (n=2000 Danes) both disagree with some of the announced changes (like referring to religious groups as stupid) *and* dislike some policies being kept.
We need voices from users on this. And especially from non-US users.
But I just wrote a whole section in my dissertation on the backdrop that they want to get rid of politics on Meta, and I have to hand it in in three weeks. Grrrrr
Two salient facts about Facebook replacing its fact-checking program with community notes:
(1) community notes are cheaper.
(2) the incoming political regime dislikes fact-checking. So community notes are less trouble.
The rest is just framing. Zuck's sole principle is to do what's best for Zuck.
Megafedt, Henrik, det her er *præcis* hvad jeg har manglet!
