Beautiful light over Copt Hall tonight!
Beautiful light over Copt Hall tonight!
A local walk this morning produced this surprise male Bullfinch. Only seen a female once before here!
Caught up with the Hoopoe and Wryneck today at Felixstowe, thankfully still there. Both new birds for my list and what stunners! #suffolkbirds
I captured some photos this morning of this beautiful Willow Emerald Damselfly that decided to spend the evening in our garden. I hope it comes back #suffolkgarden #willowemerald
Butterflies galore at Flatford this morning and then a stop off at RSPB Wolves Wood for a Silver-washed Fritillary (a first for me!) 🦋
Spotted in my garden this morning. Does anyone know what kind of moth it is please?
A few bee species found in my garden recently. Please correct me if I'm wrong but I think I have a leafcutter, red mason bee, early bumblebee and a buff-tailed bumblebee.
It was great to see the Red Footed Falcon at Abberton today. A lifer for me! This photo was the best I managed but had wonderful views through the scope when it landed on the wire. #ewt #essexbirding
Hi Sean, I was there with my husband when you arrived. I knew the grey partridges would appear when we left 😆 Lovely photos.
@swallowbirding.bsky.social Steve, do you spy something extra on the longhorn moth? You may know if you took a photo of the same one.. 🕷️
A great day with @essexbirdnews.bsky.social. A great bunch of people exploring at RSPB The Lodge. Not just birds to admire! 💚
A beautiful morning spent at Holland Haven. Very productive too... Black Redstart, male Wheatear, Bearded Reedlings, Purple Sandpiper and Ring Ouzel which is a lifer! Shame about the inappropriate comment from a creepy man but I won't dwell on that 😒 Love Spring time!
I forgot to post yesterday. Pair of lesser scaup and at least 20 sand martins at 4.45pm from the Abberton church viewpoint. Beautiful calm evening.
A lovely sunny birding day with @essexbirdnews.bsky.social and so many lovely people, in the Brecks. Saw lots of great birds including sparrowhawk, hawfinch, stonechat and many more plus a good number of butterflies 🦋
A couple of hours spare this afternoon so popped to Abberton. A dull day but spotted 1 drake Red Crested Pochard, Ring Necked Duck and Caspian gull from hide bay plus 2 close Slavs from LDLH Causeway, distant black necked grebes and 2 white fronted geese from Layer Breton and plenty of others.
A very misty day at Abberton yesterday but spotted the Slavonian grebe and the canvasback from Gwen's hide amongst the coots, pochards and tufted ducks. This was after a lovely atmospheric morning at East Mersea where the Shorelark was still showing well!
Thank you @timwootton.bsky.social 😊
Is this a Ring-neck duck? Found it at Abberton Reservoir
No photo to share sadly but got to see my first Yellow-browed warbler today thanks to @essexbirdnews.bsky.social @esbr-essex.bsky.social Great morning spent at the Naze.
