Screenshot of an Android Home Screen. At the top there is a standard weather widget showing the date of Tue 10 Feb, cloudy 10ºC. There are 4 similar looking widgets of different sizes, each showing a balance in British pounds, a name and a last updated time. These widgets represent Oyster cards registered to the account logged in via TfL Go.
Below the widgets are icons for the TfL Go app, phone, messages, Chrome, Camera and Google Search.

and when you moved the VPN to a different UK IP, it started working, or you were still unable to login?

and you mentioned "changing which VPN IP I'm connected to, allows the MFA process to complete first time." - in these cases you can login via TfL Go?

Thanks, a further question - has this been an issue for some time, or only recently?

Cheers, it sounds like the VPN and IP cycling might be confusing our systems - although if you're still able to access via the website with this approach it might be specific to our implementation in TfL Go that we need to look at

Hi, my team builds TfL Go - this is not good. Can I check you're on the latest version of TfL Go, and also whether you're on Android or iOS, and can you login successfully via the website directly?

oh and now even after a hard close, it forever opens on the 'Confirmation code' screen... I'm wondering if it actually created me an account?

Just downloaded it to have a play - seems to be stuck on sending some confirmation code? I never get it...
Also, opening directly onto login/register is a bit off-putting 😃

I’m curious what the TfL Go app would’ve showed for this journey - I hope a better result 😃

Thanks - we are aware of some challenges with tube arrival data, and we have a project underway at the moment which should improve that, particularly for stations at/near the end of lines.

And conveniently, TfL Go is a useful way to plan cycling journeys that utilise these cycleways as we prioritise our routes to use them as much as possible 🚲

Two screenshots of the TfL Go app. The first shows the status detail for the Mildmay line while it is disrupted. At the top of the screen is a back button, a bell button and a close button.
The second screenshot shows the result of tapping the bell button. This screen is entitled ‘Create notification’ and provides options to setup notification preferences for this line including time of day and days of the week. There is a big Save button at the bottom.
To set it up, tap on your line in Status, tap the bell icon and hit save!

Instead, we've carefully crafted short sentences to tell you exactly what type of disruption is affecting your line, which part of the line, and even which direction of travel! If you want more information, just tap on the notification and you can see the full status message inside TfL Go

Given we're catching up to the other apps in this space, we wanted to do something a bit different, so if you set these up, you'll notice that our notifications aren't just telling you the status, or sending you the full status message which can be a lot to interpret sometimes...

Until very recently, using TfL Go meant you had to remember to check the app each time, otherwise you wouldn't know about any disruptions. Thanks to a heap of effort from many people I work with, now you can set up notification settings for the TfL lines you usually take.

Most apps these days are nice enough to offer something better, proactive notifications so you can hear about these issues ideally before you head out, giving you time to adjust your travel, or change your plans entirely if you have that flexibility.

The truth is, it's not that unusual to encounter a disruption when travelling by public transport in London (or anywhere I suppose!), and this can be quite painful. If you have to open an app or website to check this each time you travel, it just adds to the frustration - what if you forget?
