Just a tiny list of SFFH stories by Black writers that got their claws in me and that I recommend to you all this February.
"Why would I read something someone couldn't be bothered to write" is a great refrain but I would also add as a writer "I won't write something I couldn't be bothered to read" because that's what every one of my books are: something *I* want to read.
All of this. I am the first of my target audience.
Part of this is, if you aren't creating for someone, it's like creating for everyone, which is creating for no one.
And as a writer, that someone should be me since I HAVE to reread my work over and over and over 🫠 that's publishing, bay-bee
Here’s some sketches exploring one of my ideas for the creature from “The Terror” by Dan Simmons, and how I imagined it could work as a supernatural element while still able to be mistaken for a polar bear at a glance or in the distance~
The titular story of The Nightmare Box and Other Stories explores a government program's supernatural efforts to suppress the Black Panther Party, and a mercenary witch's decision to either be complicit for $ or follow her moral conscience.
